Scouting Report

4/13/2019 PBR Midwest Select: Indiana recruit, currently ranked No. 2 in Indiana’s 2019 class, No. 59 overall. 6-foot-4, 205-pound left-handed hitter, strong, powerful athletic frame. Plus raw tools across the board who possesses rare speed/power combination. Roped a single - 101 mph off the bat - that smoked the base umpire on the shin. Ran a 4.11 down the line. Also threw out a runner at the plate from centerfield to preserve the victory in the eighth inning.

4/10/2018 Spring Scout Blog: The IU recruit is a physical 6'4 athletic/toolsy prospect. Went 0-3 at the plate on the evening (line out, strikeout, walk and GO). Squared up a ball to CF in 1st AB on a line that could of been a hit but a diving play by the CF took it away. Hits from left side, up right stance with hands close to body. Tends to cast hands at the baseball, though showed solid bat speed at the plate. Got down the line at 4.25 (on turn) in first AB, then 4.03 on soft GO. Showed above average arm from the OF. If Vercrumba can refine his tool set and translate them to the game on a consistent bases, he has a chance to be an impact player at the next level.

Fall 2017: Projectable, strong, athletic frame at 6-foot-4, 200 pounds.  Loose swing from the left side of the plate. Flat path through the zone with quick hands. Line drive approach.  Lacks separation with more use of his lower half to be gained. Defensively shows above average arm strength from a short arm action.  Clean exchange, average defensive actions.
