Scouting Report

4/18/17 SPRING SCOUT BLOG: 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, projectable athletic build. Currently ranked No. 6 in Indiana's 2018 class, the Louisville commit shows smooth, athletic actions in the field.  Made two big time plays in last night's game; one on a slow chopper behind the pitchers mound and another deep in the hole, both for outs.  Transfer is quick and clean with a quick release. Strong arm across the diamond.  Great defensive instincts, advanced feel for the SS position.  Offensively went 3-3 with a double and  2RBI.  Offensively, has a swagger like approach hitting from an athletic setup, slightly open, high back elbow.  Leg kick timing trigger, load is smooth, hands are quick through the zone. Showed good use of his lower half with balance.  Barrels up the baseball with gap type power.

2/28/16: Borden is the top ranked SS in Indiana’s 2018 class.  He boasts an athletic 6-foot-2, 175 pound frame and possesses raw bat speed from the right side of the plate; consistently makes hard contact.  In the field, he displays athletic actions with soft hands and above average arm strength.  At the Winter Preview he ran a 6.81-60 with a 90 mph exit velocity. Borden is committed to Louisville.

2/13/16:  60 Time: 7.04, Position Velocity:  IF-84, Exit Velocity: 90. 6-foot-1, 170-pound RHH hits from a balanced stance, loads back with a slight leg kick, short stride, aggressive use of lower half, generates bat speed with loose hands, shows occasional power. Soft hands, athletic actions, good lateral movement and body control, long high-3/4 release produced accurate throws across the infield, very good arm strength. Borden is committed to Louisville.
