Scouting Report

2/24/19: Large, physical frame at 6-foot-6, 230 pounds. Right-handed hitter hits from a taller, balanced setup. Loads back, leg-lift timing trigger. Above average bat speed, level-to-flat through the zone. Shows legitimate raw power. High exit velocity off the tee at 90 mph. Defensively, works well around the bag. Ability to scoop and pick balls in the dirt. 74 mph across the diamond.

5/4/18:Uncommitted. 6-foot-5 230 pound strong 1B transfer to Alexandria-Monroe barreled up just about everything he saw against a high-70's low-80's arm. Current opposite field power with significant power potential to all fields. At the plate, sets up tall with an easy stride. Almost completely upper body at this time which generates some juice, but more to come should the lower half lose stiffness. Hands get to extension. Some stiffness in all facets with room to improve athleticism. Moves well around the bag and plays aggressive on grounders. Average to slightly below average arm strength and hands. Feet can get very heavy when moving laterally and on the bases. Clean exchange and good stretch on the bag.

10.14.17: Big bodied, 6-foot-5, 230 pound sophomore uses big, tilt/topple delivery with some rhythm and regular effort. Front side spin through the lead leg with high ¾ arm slot down the mound. Creates big downhill angle with size on top of the mound, fastball was thrown bottom half of the zone at 73-75, topping at 76 and straight. Curveball was 65-67 thrown with gradual break, 10/4 shape. Changeup was 70-71 with fade.  8.23, Position Velocity: INF-72, Exit Velocity: 85. Big bodied, 6-foot-5, 230 pound sophomore first baseman generates easy pull side bat speed and pop with more in the tank. Tall, slightly open setup to start swing with simple hand push and stride to separate. Lower half is tall and stiff in swing, much more to generate. Spins on heel through contact. Back elbow and hands work well to the baseball, with good extension through the hitting zone, spins off at times with front side out early. Power potential in the future, lower half refined. Good skill set at first base with good direction and glove off the bag. Big target to throw to, can pick it off the backhand with momentum to throw to second. Below average arm strength across the diamond, more to be added to large frame.
