Indiana Uncommitted 2026s: Top Tools
November 25, 2024
Our 2026 class rankings are set to update on December 4th, the final update for 2024. We have 28 prospects committed to Division I programs thus far, and plenty more left to come. We have been well-documented in noting the depth of this class - so projecting out another 25-50 players from this class making Divison I commitments is a likely outcome, especially considering Indiana will generally produced anywhere from 55 to 75 Division I prospects in a given class. To tease the list coming out next week, we have put together lists highlighting the top tools available, along with the top ten uncommitted prospects as the list stands now. Stay tuned for a similiar release with pitchers in the coming days...

+ C/OF Reed Robinson headlines the list, our top available hitter with power to boast. He is able to consistently make hard compact with big bat speed coming from both sides of the dish, and exit velocities that reach over triple digits, a large reason why he ranks at the top of both the power and hit tables above. He adds to the offensive profile with an above average run time (6.91) and can play both C and Corner OF at an above average clip.
+ Two twitchy athletes check-in next, our No. 2 and No. 3 ranked uncommitted prospects respectively, SS/CF Eli Sinsabaugh, and OF Ian Taylor. Sinsabaugh grades as the best runner amongst this uncommitted group, and of any prospect in the class for good measure, burning 60's in the 6.25 - 6.40 range throughout 2024 with H-1st times in the 4.1-4.2 range from the right-hand side. He has above average bat-to-ball skills to compliment the run tool, and his quick-footed nature will keep him in the middle of the diamond in the long-run, whether that be in the middle infield or in centerfield. Taylor's ranks as one of the top hitters in the class and came just short on the other three categories, a tooled-out prospect undoubtedly. The 5-foot-10, 185 pounder boasts a peak exit velocity of 102-plus, 60-grade bat speed, a 6.79 60-time, and a 90 mph arm from the outfield. While injuries plagued him in 2024, look for Taylor to be a helium candidate as we enter 2025.
+ Moving down the list, a trio of left-handed hitters appear in a row, OF/RHP Colt Dehart, OF/1B Blake Cope, and SS Nate Millington. Dehart is a very projectable left-handed bat with a sweet swing that projects for power as he adds strength to his 6-foot-2, 185 pound lanky frame. His arm is an above average tool that also projects on the mound, and his overall profile becomes very well-rounded when his 6.85 60-time is considered. Cope is the most physical hitter of the bunch, standing at 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds. One of the top power bats left, Cope's rotational swing holds tons of bat strength, evident in his triple digit max exit velocity. A 6.78 60-time allows for speed/power projections, and he can man both 1B and the corner OF. Millington rounds out this group after recently decommitting from Kentucky. There is a ton of projection in the lanky, 6-foot-3, 175 pound frame and his best tool is his left-handed bat. Millington's offensive game is more of a "slash-and-dash" type, showing a flatter, handsy swing with barrel feel the opposite way. Strength gains will certainly help to louden his offensive profile, as well as his run tool. The lanky infielder boasts body control and soft hands on the dirt.
+ Four infielders round out our list of our current top uncommitted prospects : 3B Gavin Jackson, 3B/SS Jerron Miles, SS Trey Deckman, and SS Nate Sutherlin. Jackson is the most offensive prospect of the bunch, owning a mechanically sound right-handed swing with big strength and easy bat speed. Jackson checks in as one of our top uncommitted hitters in the class and has built a reputation of in-game production as we have followed this class over the past 2 1/2 seasons. Miles is a very intriguing bat - a projectable, athletic, 6-foot-3, 185 pound infielder out of Southern Indiana. There is projectable strength in the left-handed swing as he was able to collect 13 extra-base hits in his sophomore campaign at Silver Creek. Deckman is another projectable athlete that we are high on in this class. There is body control in his high-waisted, 6-foot-2, 175 pound frame to dream on, and he is one of the younger prospects in the class. Strength gains will pay dividends for Deckman - as he adds strength the bat will louden in a hurry. Sutherlin rounds out this group, a consistent performer with a projectable frame and solid tools to pair. His 6-foot-3, 200 pound frame is equally athletic and projectable, and he has an above average run time (6.93) that could enhance further with strength. Offensively, the operation is rhytmic with plenty of bat speed, reaching upper-90s exit velocities with a path that will help to provide ball flights necessary for extra bases. Sutherlin likely ends up as an offensive-orriented 2B or 3B, but the bat and frame/athleticism is certaintly worth a high follow.
