OUTLOOK:  

The Mavericks lost a great deal of talent off of their 2013 team that made a run into the 5A state championship – seven seniors were named to the All-AVCTL including 1st Team standouts pitcher Kane McCarthy, shortstop Wes Phillips and outfielder Alex Orth.  Junior middle infielders speedster Drake Bliss and left-hand hitting Caleb Warner will be key elements to South’s hopes this spring.  A pair of talented freshmen could enter into the equation as well in catcher/first-baseman Jordan Maxson and right-handed pitcher Bryce Sell.
