Season Outlook
The Lawrence Free State Firebirds have played for the Kansas  6A State Championship in each of the past two seasons.  During that span, they have compiled a record of 41-9, including a state championship in 2015.  The Firebirds return a a host of players with experience built on winning.  They return eight position players and one pitcher from  their 2016 state runner up team.  Three players received All State honors, OF Jacob Pavlyak (Benedictine), 3B Zion Bowlin, and RHP Aaron Funk. A trio of players also received All-League accolades OF Kyle Abrahamson, SS, Matt Mill and C Jaden Moore.  The Firebirds look to keep the winning tradition going in 2017 and look for them to make another run at the state championship.
