Season Outlook

The Maize Eagles are the defending Kansas Class 5 State champions have earned a trip to the state championship Class 5 playoffs in each of the last three seasons.  In 2014, the Eagles competed in the Class 6 state tournament.  If they are to get back to the state tournament in 2018, the Eagles will do with new corps of young talent.  Maize returns only one starter from a season ago and will look for senior RHP Noah Sismore, a Neosho County recruit, to lead the way.  Juniors Jordan Helm and Camden Jurgensen will have increased role one the infield and watch for 6-foot-3 180-pound junior C/RHP to have break-out season.  Maize will also look for junior OF Gage Kennedy to have a big impact in the outfield this spring.  Look for the Eagles to have continues success in the postseason with these talented new faces.
