Between The Lines Scout Day: Right-Handed PItchers

On January 15, Prep Baseball Report - Kansas held the the Between The Lines Baseball Academy Scout Day.  Over forty players attended the event in the 2021 to 2018 classes.  

Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard.

Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos.  Today will take a closer look at the right-handed pitchers from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.

Right-Handed PItchers

Jesse Ailshire C / 2B / Lees Summit West, MO / 2021

Ailshire is a 5-foot-7 150-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. Ailshire comes from an over the top release, controlled leg lift with slight coil at balance point, work in line and down the mound, throws with regular effort, finishes in athletic position, body staying under control, fastball at 64-67 mph, gradual 12-to-6 breaking ball 54-57 mph, change up has slight sink at 54-57 mph, near fastball arm speed.

Logan Alexander 2B / RHP / Olathe Northwest , KS / 2019

Alexander is a 5-foot-10 165-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Alexander has an simple and repeatable delivery, hand work in sync with leg lift, lands slightly open, over the top release, throws with regular effort and loose arm action, fastball flashed slight run, 78-80 mph, breaking ball has 12-to-6 downward action, at 65-67 mph, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, 65-67 mph.

Nicholas Chomyak OF / RHP / Shawnee Mission Northwest, KS / 2018

Chomyak is a 5-foot-10 175-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Chomyak comes from a high three quarters arm slot, long arm circle, throws with effort at release, controlled leg to balance point, accelerates down the mound in line, fastball at 79-82 mph, some with late two-seam action, breaking ball with 12-to-6 shape at 73 mph, change up has arm side run at 74 mph, works a cutter at 74-75 mph, slight sink.

Quelann Coleman Jr SS / 2B / Raytown , MO / 2021

Coleman is a 5-foot-9 165-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2021 class. Coleman has a compact delivery, repeats well, accelerates and aggressive down the mound, loose arm action, in line stride, fastball at 73-75 mph, downhill, curveball has 11-to-5 gradual action, change up thrown with near fastball arm speed, occasional arm side release.

Duke Henke OF / RHP / Shawnee Mission Northwest, KS / 2021

Henke is a 5-foot-8 150-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. Henke has an over the top release, slides foot across rubber, slight rotation at balance point, controls the leg, creates direction to the plate with stride, fastball at 70-73 mph, curveball has 12-to-6 break, downward action, change up has slight sink at 65-68 mph.

Josh Kellogg OF / RHP / De Soto, KS / 2021

Kellogg is a 5-foot-10 130-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. Kellogg has an over the top release, tall and fall type delivery, body stays under control, hands raise with leg lift, in line stride down the mound, fastball at 64-68 mph, breaking ball has 12-to-6 shape, throws for a strike, change up at 56-61 mph, some sink, slender frame with loose arm action.

Ethan Keopke RHP / 1B / Mill Valley , KS / 2019

Keopke is a 6-foot-1 200-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Keopke has an athletic delivery, over the top arm slot, wide base to set up, controlled leg lift, in line stride, throws with regular effort, shows command of the zone, fastball at 80-84 mph, some with two-seam action, breaking ball has 11-to-5 action, sharp at times, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, arm side release.

Justin Mitchell OF / RHP / Shawnee Mission Northwest, KS / 2021

Mitchell is a 5-foot-7 150-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. Mitchell has an over top release, finishes down the line the pitch, body stays under control, throws with some effort at release, fastball works 72-74 mph, curveball has 11-to-5, 60-61 mph, late break, change as slight sink, 60-61 mph, throws with near fastball arm speed.

Drake Seetin RHP / C / Olathe Northwest, KS / 2018

Seetin is a 6-foot 195-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2018 class. Seetin repeats his delivery well, aggressive down the mound, strong frame, throws with some effort, increases tempo as he accelerates to release, fastball works downhill, at 76-78 mph, breaking ball has 11-to-5 shape, has depth and late/sharp break, change up with arm side sink at 68-71 mph.

Adam Trauernicht RHP / OF / Mill Valley , KS / 2021

Trauernicht is a 5-foot-10 160-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. Trauernicht holds hands high, brings leg up to break hands, works in line down the mound, over the top release, finishes in line with the plate, fastball works 78-80 mph, curve ball flashes sharpness at 66-67 mph, throws change up down in zone at 65-68 mph, near fastball arm speed, plenty of room to fill out physically.

Draven Webb SS / RHP / Veritas Christian , KS / 2021

Webb is a 5-foot-10 165-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class. Webb has an ohigh three quarters release, body says under control, bit of a stiff wrist, athletically built, in line stride, fastball at 73-75 mph, curveball has 11-to-5 shape, some with late break, change up at 62-65 mph, arm side release, throws with fastball arm speed.
