The Kansas high school season is nearing quickly, and we're here to cover it. Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2023 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, leading into a countdown through the official PBR Kansas Preseason Power 20 Rankings.

We’ve submitted a Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

OUTLOOK

There is a lot to like about this Mustang group. They return a number op players with playing time in the field and on the mound, as well solid team athleticism.  from a year ago and Experience... Lots of guys returning who played last year. The success of the Mustangs could come down to their toughness and their ability to make plays when it matters the most. If they can put pressure on their opponents, they will have a real shot to make a deep playoff run.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Trey Weixeldorfer - SO RHP/OF
Weixeldorfer suited up some last year for Varsity at the end of the season and was on the playoff roster. Coach Dudley has high hopes for Trey to make a jump and contribute this spring. At 6-foot-7, a strike thrower, and a chance to pitch in the mid-80s already this spring, Weixeldorfer could be a difference maker.
