Andy Urban
KS/OK/MO/AR/Creekside Scouting Supervisor

The Kansas high school season is nearing quickly, and we're here to cover it. Over the next several weeks, leading up to opening day, we’ll be publishing our team previews ahead of the 2023 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications, leading into a countdown through the official PBR Kansas Preseason Power 20 Rankings.

We’ve submitted a Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team preseason analysis.

Team: Goddard Eisenhower
League:
AVCTL Div. II
2022 Record: 16-6 First round of State Tournament
Classification: 5A
Head Coach: Mike Warren
Years at the Helm: 40 Years Head Coaching Experience

OUTLOOK

The Goddard Eisenhower Tigers will look to make another run to the state tourament again this year, but it will be with many new faces on the field as they must replace five pitchers and seven position players form 2022. The strength of the squad will likely be pitching returning their No. 1 and a few others along with the addition of inexperienced but talented arms. Offensively, they will rely on manufacturing runs using their all around team speed. If the Tigers talented youth can mature quickly, they will a dangerous group come the post season.

IMPACT PLAYERS

The following players made big impacts for the Tigers last spring.

Tyner Horn RHP Sr. 6'1" 185 L/R
PBR Notes: One of the most dominant arms in KS when he was right last spring. The quick armed right-hander showed velo into the 90s and flashed a tight slider at times. The WSU commit has been rumored to have taken another velo jump this offseason and could be on professional scouts radars this spring.

Carson Roy OF Sr. 5'6" 160 L/L

Will Rogers OF Sr. 6' 180 L/R

Nathan Boucher C Sr. 6'1" 225 R/R

PLAYERS TO WATCH

The following players will be new to the varsity team, but are poised to play important roles for the Tigers this spring.

Kam Clark LHP Sr. 5'11" 180 R/L

Aaron Dimitt MIF Sr. 5'8" 160 R/R

Cooper Adams RHP/3B Sr. 6' 185 R/R

Cole Adams RHP/Inf. So. 6'2 170 R/R
