Kansas Class of 2023 Rankings Update

Prep Baseball Report Kansas has taken a modest look at the rankings for the 2023 class with a few adjustments and additions after the Fall season.  Since our last update in September, there have been a few prospects in the 2023 class that have caught some attention with standout performances and guys starting to make bigger jumps.  We take a look at a few newcomers to the list ahead of an important preseason heading into their Senior seasons.

Top Newcomers

Corey Bennett OF / RHP / St. James Academy, KS / 2023

A true two-way prospect, the right handed hitting outfielder put up impressive workout numbers with a 6.85 60, 87 OF velo, and 89 mph exit velo before jumping on the mound and filling up the zone, topping at 86.

Aiden Doty RHP / OF / Maize, KS / 2023

The long right-hander committed to Hutching Community College shortly before the event and it is easy to see why the Dragons like him. Doty filled up the zone in his pen mixing a advanced changeup as his primary secondary along with a slider. 


Nicholas Mozingo RHP / Olathe North, KS / 2023

Mozingo committed to Benedictine shortly after the Cavaliers scout day. Up to 85 on the mound and mixing two quality off speed offerings.

Cooper Leiker RHP / OF / Blue Valley Southwest , KS / 2023

Its all about projection with Leiker who at 6-foot-4, 190-pounds has his best baseball in front of him. The right-hander fills up the zone into the low 80s and shows athletic action in the right-handed box and in the outfield (6.92 runner). 

 

 

Carter Belton OF / OF / Blue Valley Northwest, KS / 2023

Rankings  StateRank: 89 


Belton showed out at the MOKAN Open this fall by ripping off 6.79 60, 90 exit velo and 85 mph OF velo. Still polishing his game, Belton could be a steal at the next level.
