Kansas Fall Prospect Games: Outfield Reports

PBR Kansas hosted the KS Fall Prospect Games showcase at Kansas State University that featured 33 players from all across the state with players in the 2022 class to the 2025 class. Today we take a look at the 14 outfielders that attended the event and their in-depth reports breaking down their frames, swing mechanics pre pitch and through contact, arm strength readings across the diamond, and 60's with data inserted from BP rounds collected by Trackman.   Full event stats and details from the event can be found by clicking here.

 

Tyner Horn, Eisenhower (KS), 2023 Wichita State Commit
Positional Profile: RHP/3B
Body: 6-0, 160-pounds. Athletic and wiry build with present strength and room for more in the future
Hit: LHH. Starts with a slightly open stance and athletic posture.  Hands get set at shoulder height tight to the body with a high back elbow.  Short knee knock stride into an athletic base.  Lower half works linearly through the zone into a slightly bent front leg.  Hands work tight to the body and inside the ball.  Level bat path with a line drive approach.  Hands work quickly through the zone and shows some strength at contact.
Power: 90.78 max exit velocity, averaged 83.85 mph. 289’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 90 mph. OF - 89 mph. High 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action.
Defense:  pop times. In the infield attacks the ball with good routes and active feet.  Shows some lateral range with good glove action and soft hands.  In the outfield attacks the ball with shorter strides and controlled rhythm.  Fields the ball on the outside of the glove side leg with soft hands.  Utilizes a quick shuffle style crow hop technique with good momentum headed towards the target.
Run: 7.48 runner in the 60. 

Seth Dandridge, Blue Valley Southwest  (KS), 2023
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 5-11, 170-pounds. Athletic build with some present strength
Hit: LHH. Slightly open stance with an athletic posture.  Hands get set quietly into position at shoulder height with a 45 degree bat angle and relaxed back elbow.  Quick knee knock stride with strong linear weight shift into a slightly bent front leg.  Maintains balance throughout the swing. Hands work direct to the ball with barrel getting into the zone early into the swing and staying on plane with the pitch well.  Rotates well in sequence with the upper body and lower body working well together.  Line drive approach and shows some strength at contact.
Power: 89.73 max exit velocity, averaged 84.7 mph. 323’ max distance. Showcased good barrel control and gap power potential with good at bats in the game portion.
Arm: LH.   OF - 86 mph. Over the top arm slot with a clean arm action.
Defense:  pop times. Attacks the ball with aggressive rhythm and smooth footwork.  Fields the ball on the outside of the glove side leg with good glove action and soft hands.  Good rhythm throughout the fielding process.  Utilizes a short shuffle crow hop technique with good momentum headed towards the target.
Run: 7.34 runner in the 60. 

Brooks Jones, Lawrence (KS), 2024
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 6-3, 205-pounds. Advanced and athletic frame with present strength and projectable build
Hit: RHH. Neutral stance with an upright posture and narrow base.  Hands work back quickly at just below shoulder height with a slightly tucked posture and 45 degree bat angle.  Short weight shift with the lower half working rotationally through the zone.  Maintains balance throughout the swing. Level bat path and a line drive approach.  Hands work hard to the inside part of the ball.  Hands work quickly through the zone. and shows good rotational acceleration metrics with the barrel getting up to speed quickly.
Power: 93.18 max exit velocity, averaged 74.03 mph. 151’ max distance. Hits with good leverage and hand strength.
Arm: LH.   OF - 83 mph. Over the top arm slot with a long and clean arm action.
Defense:  pop times. Attacks the ball with controlled footwork and aggression.  Fields te ball out in front of the glove side leg with a feel for glove action and soft hands.  Utilizes a quick shuffle crow hop technique with good momentum headed towards the target.
Run: 7.25 runner in the 60.

Jack Kreisman, Blue Valley Northwest (KS), 2023
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-0, 160-pounds. Athletic and proportional build with room for added strength and size in the future
Hit: LHH. Neutral stance with an athletic posture.  Hands get set slightly above shoulder height with a flat barrel angle.  Short weight shift into the back leg with a short leg lift stride back to neutral.  Good balance throughout the swing. Short and compact routes to the ball with a line drive approach.  Hands work quickly through the zone and shows some strength at contact and hits with good leverage.  Strong rotational acceleration metrics.
Power: 93.05 max exit velocity, averaged 85.64 mph. 310’ max distance. Gap power will continue to show with increased levels in hand strength as the frame fills out.
Arm: RH.   OF - 83 mph. Over the top arm slot with a long and clean arm action.
Defense:  pop times. Attacks the ball with aggressive routes and clean footwork.  Fields the ball on the outside of the glove side leg with good glove action and soft hands.  Clean exchanges out of the glove.  Quick shuffle crow hop technique with good momentum headed towards target.
Run: 7.42 runner in the 60. 

Kade Sheldon, Derby  (KS), 2023
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 6-1, 190-pounds. Athletic and physical build with present strength
Hit: RHH. Starts with a slightly open stance and upright posture.  Hands get set deep and back with slight arm bar posture.  Leg kick stride with weight shifting onto the top of the back leg with a short scissor kick back foot action with a narrow stride. Rotational path with the hands and works the hands hard to the inside part of the ball.  Shows some strength at contact.  Hands work very quickly through the zone and maintains balance throughout the swing.
Power: 90.11 max exit velocity, averaged 83.43 mph. 333’ max distance.
Arm: RH.   OF - 83 mph. Over the top arm slot with a long and clean arm action.
Defense:  pop times. Attacks the ball with aggressive routes and active feet.  Fields the ball on the outside of the glove side leg with a feel for glove action and soft hands.  Utilizes a back knee driven forward crow hop technique with good feet.
Run: 7.24 runner in the 60. 

Jaron Brown, McPherson (KS), 2022
Positional Profile: SS/OF
Body: 6-0, 177-pounds. Athletic build with some present strength
Hit: RHH. Neutral stance with a wide base and upright posture.  Will show a no stride swing and  a traditional stride.  Hands get set just above shoulder height with a 45 degree bat angle.  Short shift into the back side with short linear direction in the lower half working to a firm front leg.  Direct routes to the ball with a flat bat path.  Line drive approach and uses the middle of the field well.  Strong rotational acceleration metrics getting the barrel moving quickly through the zone early.
Power: 88.87 max exit velocity, averaged 83.73 mph. 303’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 80 mph. OF - 81 mph. 3/4 arm slot with a loose arm action.
Defense:  pop times. Attacks the ball with smooth rhythm and easy routes around the ball.  Fields the ball out in front of the body with good glove action and soft hands.  Fields the ball on the move well with clean exchanges out of the glove.
Run: 7.03 runner in the 60. 

Jacob Bittner, Saint Thomas Aquinas (KS), 2023
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-10, 170-pounds. Proportional build with present athleticism
Hit: RHH. Starts with a slightly open stance and crouched posture.  Pre shifts weight onto the back leg with hands getting set quietly and early into position at shoulder height with a high back elbow and slightly tucked into the body.  Utilizes a quick two tap stride with short linear weight shift into a firm front leg. Hands work short and direct to the ball with routes working inside the ball.  Line drive approach and does a good job of utilizing the whole field.
Power: 88.28 max exit velocity, averaged 80.89 mph. 294’ max distance. Showed some strength at contact for potential gap power.
Arm: RH.   OF - 80 mph. Over the top arm slot with a long arm action and release.
Defense:  pop times. Attacks the ball with active feet and aggressive routes.   Fields the ball on the outside of the glove side leg with a stiff glove and developing glove action.  Utilizes a quick shuffle style crow hop technique with slight momentum headed towards target.
Run: 6.82 runner in the 60. Smooth runner with easy strides

Cole Chinnock, Shawnee Mission East (KS), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/RHP
Body: 5-11, 170-pounds. Athletic and projectable build with room for added strength and size in the future
Hit: RHH. Slightly open stance with an athletic posture.  Hands get set below shoulder height with a 45 degree bat angle.  Quick load into the lower half and uses a short leg kick stride back to neutral.  Good weight shift in the lower half working linearly through the zone.   Rotational path with the hands with a slightly uphill bat path.  Line drive approach.  Slight lean back in the posture after contact.
Power: 92.12 max exit velocity, averaged 78.35 mph. 264’ max distance. Shows some strength at contact with the hands.
Arm: RH.  INF - 78 mph. OF - 80 mph. High 3/4 arm slot with a short and clean arm action.
Defense:  pop times. In the infield attacks the ball with a feel for routes working around the ball and active feet.  Fields the ball out in front with good glove action and soft hands.  Clean exchanges out of the glove.  In the outfield attacks the ball with controlled rhythm and shorter steps.  Fields the ball out in front of the glove side leg with some glove action.  Utilizes a quick shuffle crow hop technique with good momentum headed towards the target.
Run: 7.38 runner in the 60. 

Jacob Dickey, Blue Valley Southwest (KS), 2023
Positional Profile: C/OF
Body: 6-2, 215-pounds. Physical and mature frame with present strength
Hit: RHH. Neutral stance with an upright posture.  Hands get set just below shoulder height with slight arm bar posture and a vertical bat angle.  Strong weight stack onto the back leg with short linear direction in the lower half.  Uses a simple stride with good rhythm and hits off a firm front leg. Hands work quickly through the zone and shows good overall bat speed.  Gets barrel moving quickly and early into the zone with strong rotational acceleration.  Rotational path with the hands with a flat bat path.
Power: 95.22 max exit velocity, averaged 72.71 mph. 308’ max distance. Strength at contact with the hands.
Arm: RH. C - 73 mph.  OF - 80 mph. Over the top arm slot with a short arm action.
Defense: 2.04-2.17 pop times. Receives the ball with strong wrists and a high posture.  Feet and shoulders turn in unison on throws to second and when in sync the throws have good carry to the bag.  High posture on blocks.  In the outfield attacks the ball with controlled rhythm and shorter strides.  Fields the ball out in front of the glove side leg with some glove action and a firm glove.  Utilizes a shuffle crow hop technique with slight momentum headed towards target.
Run: 7.48 runner in the 60.

Carter Beach, Blue Valley Northwest (KS), 2024
Positional Profile: 2B/OF
Body: 5-10, 130-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future
Hit: RHH. Starts with a neutral stance and slightly crouched posture.  Hands get set deep into the body with a relaxed back elbow.  Short weight shift into a bent back leg with lower half working linearly into a bent front leg.   Hands work short to the ball with a level bat path.  Line drive approach with hands working hard to the inside part of the ball.  Strong top hand finish.
Power: 87.56 max exit velocity, averaged 81.61 mph. 304’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 79 mph. OF - 79 mph. 3/4 arm slot with hand working across the body at release.
Defense:  pop times. Attacks the ball with active feet and lateral routes around the ball.  Fields the ball out in front with developing glove action and soft hands.  Maintains body control throughout the fielding process and shows clean exchanges out of the glove.  In the outfield attacks the ball with controlled rhythm and shorter strides.  Fields the ball off the glove side leg with developing glove action and a high waist bend.  Utilizes a back knee driven forward crow hop technique with some momentum headed towards the target.
Run: 7.39 runner in the 60.

Jonas Konrade, Lebo  (KS), 2022
Positional Profile: SS/OF
Body: 5-11, 185-pounds. Athletic build with some present strength
Hit: RHH. Starts with a neutral stance and upright posture.  Quick loads the hands to just above shoulder height and a slightly wrapped barrel.  Short load into the lower half and uses a quick traditional stride to a wider base.  Lower half works rotationally through the swing. Rotational path with the hands with an uphill bat path.  Tries to work the ball up in the air. Strong top hand finish.
Power: 90.63 max exit velocity, averaged 84.93 mph. 333’ max distance. Has some strength at contact.
Arm: RH.  INF - 74 mph. OF - 78 mph. High 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action.
Defense:  pop times. In the infield attacks the ball with lateral routes and active feet.  Fields the ball slightly deep into the body with a firm glove and developing glove action.  In the outfield attacks the ball with controlled rhythm and shorter strides.  Fields the ball out in front of the glove side leg with some glove action.  Utilizes a shuffle crow hop technique with slight momentum headed towards the target.
Run: 7.23 runner in the 60. 

Keaton Vogelsberg, Blue Valley Northwest (KS), 2024
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 5-10, 165-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future
Hit: RHH. Neutral stance with an athletic posture.  Hands get set early and quietly into position just below shoulder height with a tucked back elbow.  Strong weight stack onto the back side with a simple stride.  Lower half works linearly through the swing with good sync with the upper body. Linear path with the hands and a short and compact stroke.  Hands work well to the inside part of the ball.  Gets the barrel into the zone quickly and through contact.  Gets good extension with a level bat path.
Power: 88.86 max exit velocity, averaged 80.31 mph. 321’ max distance. Good feel for barrel in the zone with some strength at contact.
Arm: RH.  INF - 78 mph. OF - 77 mph. High 3/4 arm slot with a short arm action.
Defense:  pop times. In the infield attacks the ball with direct routes and active feet.  Shows some glove action and soft hands with a high waist bend.  Fields the ball on the run well with clean arm exchanges.  In the outfield fields the ball inside the glove side leg with two hands at times.  Utilizes a quick shuffle stride crow hop technique with slight momentum headed towards target.
Run: 7.68 runner in the 60. 

Charlie Bogan, Saint Thomas Aquinas (KS), 2024
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 5-9, 135-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future
Hit: RHH. Starts with a neutral stance and upright posture.  Hands get set at just below shoulder height with a vertical bat angle.  Quick load into the lower half and utilizes a short leg kick stride with a rotational backside turn. Uphill bat path and tries to work the ball up in the air.  Rotational path with the hands and utilizes a pull side approach.  Developing bat speed and hand speed.
Power: 83.88 max exit velocity, averaged 74.04 mph. 283’ max distance.
Arm: RH.   OF - 76 mph. Over the top arm slot with a long and loose arm action.
Defense:  pop times. Attacks the ball with aggressive footwork and longer strides.  Fields the ball out in front of the glove side leg with some glove action and soft hands.  Utilizes a step behind shuffle crow hop with some momentum headed towards the target.
Run: 7.65 runner in the 60. 

Bryce Ungashick, St. James (KS), 2023
Positional Profile: OF/SS
Body: 5-8, 145-pounds. Lean and developing build with room for added strength and size in the future
Hit: RHH. Starts with a neutral stance and wide base.  Hands get set at shoulder height with a 45 degree bat angle.  Preloads weight into the back side.  Utilizes a quick leg kick stride back to neutral.   Short and direct routes to the ball.  Level bat path and a line drive approach.  Good rotation sync with the upper and lower body.
Power: 88.71 max exit velocity, averaged 78.76 mph. 252’ max distance. Shows some strength at contact
Arm: RH.   OF - 76 mph. Over the top arm slot with a long arm action and strong pull down.
Defense:  pop times. Attacks the ball with controlled rhythm and footwork.  Fields the ball on the outside of the glove side leg with some glove action and a firm glove.  Utilizes a back foot hop crow hop technique with some momentum headed towards the target.
