The Kansas high school baseball season has kicked off. Over the next several weeks,  we’ll be publishing our team spotlights during the 2021 spring season, touching on programs spanning all state classifications. Perennially, we’ve submitted a Preseason Questionnaire to high school head coaches across the entire state. Their responses have been flooding in and we’re using the detailed insight they’ve provided in our team-by-team analysis.

If you would like your team covered, please have your head coach email us at [email protected]

TOP PLAYERS

Kendall Diggs 3B / SS / St. Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2021

The Super 60 participant and University of Arkansas commit is going to carry a big load for the Saint's offense this spring.  With one of the better left handed swings in the country, the Senior will look to build on an already impressive resume with the bat as well as showcase his plus defensive abilities on the left side of the infield.

Ivan Brethowr OF / 1B / St Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2021

The Arizona State commit will showcase some of the best raw tools in the state this Spring for the Saints.  A large frame and good athlete, Ivan has the potential to turn himself into a potential 5-tool player.

Blake Anderson SS / 2B / St. Thomas Aquinas, KS / 2021

The Senior shortstop and University of Nebraska commit (football) will be providing the Saints some above average defense up the middle this Spring.  Blake has good range and shows very good defensive actions.

OUTLOOK

The biggest strengths to the 2021 Saint Thomas Aquinas team this year is their star power in the infield.  Having three Power 5 level commits in the infield being able to defend at a high level is a definite luxury in High School baseball.  The coaching staff feels good about their lineup and their offensive potential as well.

The biggest question marks heading into the 2021 campaign are the unknowns with the pitching staff.   The Saints will need some guys without previous experience to step up for them and let their plus defense work.  They will also be breaking in three new outfielders to the Varsity level.
