The PBR Kansas 2022 Class Rankings have been updated after a baseball packed Spring and Summer. The 2022s continue to add depth to an already talented class with some players who have seen major development and some newcomers to the list. Check out the risers, newcomers, and fully expanded rankings, below.

The Top 3

Caden Marcum RHP / OF / Paola, KS / 2022

Most recently, we got to see Marcum at the Area Code games where he was 88-91 still showing a very high celling with his long athletic frame and clean arm action. Marcum is still developing his command and appears to have more velo in the tank.

Ben Bybee RHP / 1B / Blue Valley Southwest, KS / 2022

At 6-foot-6 225-pounds, Bybee remains one of the most physically impressive players in the state. Offensively, The right-handed hitter helped BVSW to a 5A State Championship this spring where he showed impressive power in the box.  Bybee's future though remains on the mound, where we could get to see the power right-hander return to action as early as this fall.

Dylan Dreiling OF / LHP / Hays, KS / 2022

Dreiling was one of the standout stars of the 5A state tournament producing multiple multi-hit games and tossed a gem for the Indians. The left-hander hitter shows pop to all fields and control for the barrel as well as athleticism in the outfield with arm strength.

The Risers
As with every season that goes by, many players take major leaps physically and developmentally. Below are some of the biggest risers since our latest rankings.

Ryan Borberg SS / RHP / Shawnee Mission Northwest, KS / 2022

Always a solid two-way prospect, Borberg make a huge jump on the mound this summer where he pumped strikes up to 91 at times. The right hander uses an athletic delivery with rhythm and long and loose arm action. Borberg recently committed to Illinois State.

Chase Bloomer SS / 2B / Ottawa, KS / 2022

Bloomer had one of the biggest summers out of any infielder in the state. Offensively, the right-handed hitter showed doubles juice to all fields off high end arms. Defensively, Bloomer shows the hands, feet, arm strength to stick at SS at the next level.

Jackson Herbel 2B / SS / Basehor, KS / 2022

Herbel is not the flashiest prospect, but there is no doubt that he is "ball player". The right-handed hitter really handled the bat all summer long showing some surprising juice to all fields. Defensively, Herbel projects best at 2B.

The Newcomers
In the offseason, we found a couple of difference makers who earned their way into our rankings. All three of the prospects below enter the rankings in the top 50.

Wyatt Foley OF / RHP / Girard, KS / 2022

Foley burst onto the scene at the MOKAN Top Prospect Games this summer. The toolsy two-way prospect posted a 6.88 60, was 89 from the outfield and had a top exit velo of 90 in BP. Foley also jumped on the mound and threw strikes featuring a fastball sitting 85-87 and a tight spinning slider (2365 ave) at 70-72.

Drew Wardell C / 3B / Maize, KS / 2022

Wardell showed impressive measurables at the KS Summer Open with a pop time as low as 1.91, catcher velo of 76 and BP exit velo of 91 mph. With a 6-0 190-pound frame Wardell will be an interesting prospect to follow as he continues to polish his game.

Harrison Juhl 3B / SS / Lawrence Free State, KS / 2022

Juhl had a strong showing at the BC Scout Day showing athleticism on both sides of the ball as well as some solid performances this spring for Free State and during tournament play this summer.
