Player Spotlight: RHP Alex Debey (Blue Valley, 2016)

Alex DeBey (Blue Valley, 2016) is a 6-foot-5 180-pound right-handed pitcher. DeBey topped at 81 mph with his fastball at the end of summer

On the mound, DeBey throws on a down hill plane with smooth rhythm and flow. He has an over the top release, throws strikes and repeats release point. He shows good command of his fastball, working between 78-80 mph. He has a 12-to-6 shape on breaking ball, keeping it down in zone. He change-up is at  71-72 mph.

DeBey has a projectable pitchers build with clean arm action and a upside.  More 12-to-6 shape on breaking ball, down in zone, fastball arm speed, 61-66 mph, pitched to contact in game action allowed, challenges hitters, no hits and no runs.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

DeBey: I am looking for a good business department.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do? Name some players that will play a key role for Blue Valley in 2016.

DeBey:  I pitched as a starter on the JV and a reliever on the varsity.
Key players this year are Tanner Fox, Gunner Halter, AJ Johnson and Will Brennan

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

DeBey: My goal is to help BV win a state championship; be a good teammate; and have fun.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

DeBey: I play for Mac N Seitz Red Sox, during both summer and Fall for the last three years.

PBR:Do you play any other sports?

DeBey: Basketball.  Started as junior on the varsity.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

DeBey: I received a 23 on the ACT, and I have a 3.54 weighted GPA, 3.28 unweighted.
