Prep Baseball Report-Kansas held the The Barn Scout Day at The Barn Indoor Facility on January 26. Over forty-five players attended in the 2020 to 2024 classes

Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance. 


Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on ScoutPlus.

Here is a closer look at the infielders from the event, listed in alphabetical order.

 

Infielders

Cole Askew SS / RHP / Seaman , KS / 2021


Askew is an athletic 5-foot-9 170-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 4.37 home to first and had an 80 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, open stance with load in hands, lands slightly closed, accelerates hands to contact and through the ball, gap to gap approach, high finish. On the infield,  short high three quarters arm slot, quick to the ball with footwork, plays through the ball with quick transfer and throw, 81 mph positional velocity.

Parker Bundy OF / RHP / Manhattan, KS / 2024

Bundy is a 5-foot-4 95-pound right-handed hitting infielder in Kansas’ 2024 class.  He ran a 4.64 home to first and had a 54 mph exit velocity. At the plate, wide set up in lower half, small load to back side with weight shift, minimal stride, stays in line, body stays under control, gap to gap approach. On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, aggressive to the ball, plays through he ball with momentum to throw, clean transfer, 53 mph positional velocity.

Jack Campbell OF / SS / Manhattan, KS / 2022

Campbell is a 5-foot-7 130-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2022 class. He ran a 4.10 home to first and had an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, leg kick, lands slightly open, quick and loose hands, middle to pull side contact.  On the infield, over the top arm slot, fields ball in athletic position, clean transfer, gains ground with footwork after exchange, works through the ball, 71 mph positional velocity.

Coy Cavender RHP / 3B / Manhattan , KS / 2022

Cavender is a lanky 6-foot-1 160-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2022 class.  He ran a 4.39 home to first and had a 71 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, open stance, quick tempo in load, in line stride, quick bat speed with high finish, middle to pull side contact during hitting evals.  On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, quick to the ball with footwork, fluid transfer, 70 mph positional velocity,

Brennan Dall SS / 2B / Manhattan, KS / 2024

Dall is a 5-foot-7 140-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2024 class.  He ran a 4.64 home to first and had a 78 mph exit velocity. At the plate, wide set up in base, slight load with weight shift to back side, level path through the zone, gap to gap approach.  On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, loose arm action, quick catch and throw, fluid footwork to the ball, 61 mph positional velocity.

Braden Dinkel SS / C / Manhattan, KS / 2022

Dinkel is a 5-foot-8 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2022 class.  He ran a 4.24 home to first and had an 80 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, open stance, minimal load, hands create a flat bat path, quick bat speed, middle to pull side contact.  On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, short arm circle, clean transfer, fluid footwork to the one time with exchange, plays through the ball, 76 mph positional velocity.

Cohen Fahey RHP / OF / Manhattan High School, KS / 2024

Fahey is a 5-foot-7 140-pound right-handed hitting infielder in Kansas’ 2024 class. He ran a 4.63 home to first and had a 69 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts slightly closed, reverse stride to slight closed stride, level path with middle of the field approach, level bat path. On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, works through the ball with footwork, clean transfer and throw, 60 mph positional velocity.

Owen Goode C / 1B / Manhattan, KS / 2024

Goode is a 5-foot-8 130-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Kansas’ 2024 class.  He ran a 5.22 home to first and has a 67 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, tall set up, some rhythm in hands pre-pitch, shot stride, sometimes open, level path, middle to pull side contact. Lane Griffin 2B / SS / Rock Creek, KS / 2023

Griffin is a 5-foot-1 100-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Kansas’ 2023 class. He ran a 4.57 home to first and had a 52 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balance set up, no wasted movment, short stride, lands slightly closed, stays under control, middle to opposite field contact.  On the infield, short over the top arm slot, gains ground with footwork through the ball, quick transfer, 57 mph positional velocity.

Trae Haub 2B / C / Rock Creek, KS / 2023

Haub is a 5-foot-6 125-pound switch hitting second baseman in Kansas’ 2023 class.  He ran a 4.89 home to first and hand a 60 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, open stance, smooth load with loose hand, quick bat speed, feel for the barrel, similar swing from both side, quicker hands from right side, gap to gap approach.  On the infield, quick actions, soft hands, quick release on time with momentum in footwork, athletic, 60 mph positional velocity.

Jaxson Hayes C / SS / Manhattan, KS / 2024

Hayes is a 5-foot-4 110-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2024 class. He ran a 4.88 home to first and had a 62 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, minimal load, short stride, gap to gap approach. On the infield, 58 mph positional velocity,  over the top arm slot, clean transfer with quick release.

Domenic Huber SS / RHP / Manhattan, KS / 2020

Huber is a lean 5-foot-11 145-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a 4.44 home to first and had a 74 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, open stance, lands slightly open, smooth load, loose hands with high finish, gap to gap, feel for the barrel.  On the infield, athletic actions, high three quarters arm slot, quick catch and throw, smooth footwork to the ball with soft hands, 73 mph positional velocity.

Carter Kaus RHP / 2B / Manhattan, KS / 2022

Kaus is a 6-foot-3 175-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Kansas’ 2022 class.  He ran a 4.59 home to first and a has a 79 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, balanced set up, to tap with some hand load, in line stride, bat path has some lift, middle to pull side line drives.  On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, made all plays cleanly with transfer and exchange, 62 mph positional velocity.

Andrew Khoury OF / 3B / Junction City, KS / 2021

Khoury is athletically built 6-foot 185-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 4.46 home to first and had a 74 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall stance, slight load with hands, short in line stride, balanced and under control, repeatable, loose hand with level plane, gap to gap approach. On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, clean transfer with fluid footwork, creates momentum through the ball, quick release, 74 mph positional velocity.

Tyler Machor 1B / OF / Manhattan, KS / 2021

Machor is a 6-foot-4 225-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 4.35 home to first and had an 89 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, starts in a thin set up with open stance, hands load with stride, quick and aggressive bat speed, level through the zone, stays balanced, gap to gap approach, flashed pull side power.  On the infield, three quarters arm slot, quick transfer and throw, fields ball in athletic position, 76 mph positional velocity.

Kevin Mannell RHP / C / Jefferson West , KS / 2021

Mannell is an athletically built 6-foot-2 185-pound right-handed hitting infielder in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 4.34 home to first and had an 81 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, Mannell has an open stance, some rhythm in his hands as he loads with a weight shift, stride stays in line, hands manage the barrel showing range, gap to gap line drives, sprays ball to all fields with barrels awareness. On the infield, plays behind the ball and gain ground through the exchange, quick release, high three quarters arm slot, short arm circle, 80 mph positional velocity.

Keigan McNulty 2B / RHP / Riley County, KS / 2021

McNulty is a 5-foot-11 150-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 4.29 home to first and had a 75 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, starts slightly open, smooth and controlled load to back side, in line stride, middle of the field approach, feel for the barrel.  On the infield, athletic with quick catch and throw actions, soft hands, moves to the ball with smooth footwork, soft hands, plays through the ball, 70 mph positional velocity.

Jaden Moon OF / RHP / Manhattan, KS / 2021

Moon is a 5-foot-8 140-pound right-handed hitting infielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 4.37 home to first and had a 71 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, short stride, some pre pitch movement in hands for timing, quick toe tap to short open stride, short swing with gap to gap approach. On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, long arm circle, aggressive to the ball, clean transfer, 68 mph positional velocity.

Nicholas Murph 3B / Manhattan, KS / 2024

Murph is a 6-foot-1 210-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2024 class.  At the plate, had a 60 mph exit velocity, balanced stance, small leg kick, stays balanced, middle of the field line drives during hitting evals.  On the infield, short over the top arm slot, aggressive the ball, clean transfer and throw, 61 mph positional velocity.

Hayden Nutsch RHP / 3B / Wamego, KS / 2022

Nutsch is slender a 6-foot-1 150-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2022 class. He ran a 4.38 home to first and had a 78 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a balanced position, slight shoulder rotation to load with small weight shift, short in line stride, controlled with some length in extension, gap to gap approach. On the infield, three quarters arms slot, stays under control, clean transfer with fluid footwork, 65 mph positional velocity.

Cade Perkins LHP / OF / Manhattan , KS / 2022

Perkins is a projectable 6-foot-1 175-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Kansas’ 2022 class. He ran a 4.27 home to first and an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall stance, minimal rhythm, with minimal load, quick leg lift with stride, level path through the zone, swing produced mostly pull to middle of the field line drives. Jackson Radi SS / C / Manhattan , KS / 2024

Radi is a 5-foot-4 127-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2024 class.  He ran a 4.78 home to first and has a 71 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, balanced set up, gathers weight with a controlled toe tap, in line stride, level path, minimal hand movement, middle of the field approach. On the infield, over the top arm slot, controlled actions to the ball, clean transfer with a 56 mph positional velocity.

Gus Renter 3B / C / Manhattan , KS / 2024

Renter is a 5-foot-9 150-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2024 class.  He ran a 4.58 home to first and had a 74 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, balanced set up, short in line stride, reverse toe tap before stride, short to contact, high one handed finish, middle to opposite field contact. On the infield, over the top arm slot, fields ball out front, made all plays cleanly, 58 mph positional velocity.

Kolby Rose 3B / SS / Council Grove, KS / 2024

Rose is a 5-foot-9 135-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Kansas’ 2024 class.  He ran a 4.49 home to first and and had a 74 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, quick weight shift to back side, some hand load, gap to gap approach, stays balanced.  On the infield, high three quarters arm slot, stays under control, clean transfer and throw, 58 mph positional velocity.

Taylor Shuck 2B / SS / Anthony , KS / 2024

Schuck is a 5-foot-1 117-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Kansas’ 2024 class. He ran a 4.69 home to first and has a 71 mph exit velocity. Sinks is a 5-foot-4 130-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Kansas’ 2024 class. He ran a 4.93 home to first and had a 67 mph exit velocity. Nate Ten Kate SS / 3B / Manhattan , KS / 2022

Ten Kate is a long and lean 6-foot-1 150-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2022 class.  He ran a 4.48 home to first and had a 77 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, starts slightly open, reverse toe tap to in line stride, mostly quiet hands, level path through the zone, one handed finish.  On the infield, long arm circle with over the top release, arm works from different slots depending on play, quick to the ball with momentum through the transfer, 68 mph positional velocity.

Jake Wolcott SS / RHP / Manhattan, KS / 2024

Wolcott is a 5-foot-11 160-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2024 class.  He ran a 4.76 home to first and had a 78 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, starts with a tall and open stance, creates smooth pre-swing rhythm, controlled in line stride, middle of the field approach, high finish in hands. On the infield, short high three quarters arm slot, controlled actions in footwork in exchange, works through the ball with momentum from footwork, 64 mph positional velocity.

Gavin Zuperku RHP / 1B / Shawnee Heights, KS / 2023

Zuperku is a sturdy 6-foot- 220-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Kansas’ 2023 class.  He ran a 4.89 home to first and had a 73mph exit velocity.  At the plate, balanced set up, slight load in hands, minimal weight shift, short to contact, high finish, gap to gap line drives during hitting evals.  On the infield, short over the top arm slot, clean transfer and throw, fields ball out front, 59 mph positional velocity.
