Prep Baseball Report-Kansas held the The Barn Scout Day at The Barn Indoor Facility on January 26. Over forty-five players attended in the 2020 to 2024 classes

Player profiles have been updated with running times and velocities along with a video of their performance. 

Players can now updated their profiles with a

Here is a closer look at the Outfielders from the event, listed in alphabetical order.

Outfielders

Cole Askew SS / RHP / Seaman , KS / 2021

Askew is an athletic 5-foot-9 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 4.37 home to first and had an 80 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, open stance with load in hands, lands slightly closed, accelerates hands to contact and through the ball, gap to gap approach, high finish.  In the outfield, aggressive to the ball with footwork, quick transfer and throw, over the top arm slot, loose arm action, plays through the ball, 84 mph positional velocity.

Parker Bundy OF / RHP / Manhattan, KS / 2024

Bundy is a 5-foot-4 95-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2024 class.  He ran a 4.64 home to first and had a 54 mph exit velocity. At the plate, wide set up in lower half, small load to back side with weight shift, minimal stride, stays in line, body stays under control, gap to gap approach.  In the outfield, attacks the ball with momentum in footwork working through the catch, clean transfer on time with footwork, over the top arm slot, 60 mph positional velocity.

Jack Campbell OF / SS / Manhattan, KS / 2022

Campbell is a 5-foot-7 130-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2022 class. He ran a 4.10 home to first and had an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, leg kick, lands slightly open, quick and loose hands, middle to pull side contact.  In the outfield, 77 mph positional velocity, easy actions, controlled through the ball with clean transfer, loose over the top arm action, plays through the ball.

Tanner Christensen OF / RHP / Rock Creek, KS / 2021

Christensen is a 5-foot-11 142-pound switch-hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 4.38 home to first and had a 78 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall and balanced set up, toe tap with hand load, in line stride, level path, swing produced middle to pull side line drives during hitting evals.  In the outfield, high three quarters release with long arm circle, footwork creates fluid momentum through the catch to the exchange, 72 mph positional velocity.

Cohen Fahey RHP / OF / Manhattan High School, KS / 2024

Fahey is a 5-foot-7 140-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2024 class. He ran a 4.63 home to first and had a 69 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts slightly closed, reverse stride to slight closed stride, level path with middle of the field approach, level bat path.  In the outfield, high three quarters arm slot, made all transfers cleanly, plays behind the ball, high three quarters arm slot, longer arm circle, 65 mph positional velocity.

Kyler Hahn OF / RHP / Manhattan, KS / 2022

Hahn is a lean 6-foot-1 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2022 class. He ran a 4.20 home to first and had a 76 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, controlled stride, no wasted movement in load, level path with hands managing the barrel, middle of the field approach, showed feel for barrel.  In the outfield, fluid actions, works through the ball, clean transfer and throw with footwork working through the ball, over the top arm slot, 73 mph positional velocity.

Jaxson Hayes C / SS / Manhattan, KS / 2024

Hayes is a 5-foot-4 110-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2024 class. He ran a 4.88 home to first and had a 62 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, minimal load, short stride, gap to gap approach.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, quick transfer and throw, works behind the ball, 64 mph positional velocity.

Mason Henry OF / 2B / Manhattan, KS / 2021

Henry is a 5-foot-8 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 4.22 home to first and had a 77 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance with pre-swing bag wiggle for rhythm, quick toe tap with slightly open stride, fast hands with level plane working the middle of the field.  In the outfield, clean transfer and throw, works behind the ball and through the catch, over the top arm slot, 74 mph positional velocity.

Andrew Khoury OF / 3B / Junction City, KS / 2021

Khoury is athletically built 6-foot 185-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 4.46 home to first and had a 74 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall stance, slight load with hands, short in line stride, balanced and under control, repeatable, loose hand with level plane, gap to gap approach.  In the outfield, quick to the ball, works through the catch, high three quarters arm slot, 74 mph positional velocity.

Brandon Krainbill OF / RHP / Rock Creek , KS / 2024

Krainbill is a 5-foot-7 122-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2024 class. He had a 4.34 home to first and had a 62 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, lands open with stride, slight hand load with weight shift, swing produced middle to pull side line drives during hitting evals.  In the outfield, clean transfer and throw, high three quarters arm slot, stays under control working through the ball, 66 mph positional velocity.

Jaden Moon OF / RHP / Manhattan, KS / 2021

Moon is a 5-foot-8 140-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 4.37 home to first and had a 71 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, short stride, some pre pitch movement in hands for timing, quick toe tap to short open stride, short swing with gap to gap approach.  In the outfield, aggressive through the ball, quick transfer and throw, short arm circle with over the top arm slot, 75 mph positional velocity.

Hayden Nutsch RHP / 3B / Wamego, KS / 2022

Nutsch is slender a 6-foot-1 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2022 class. He ran a 4.38 home to first and had a 78 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a balanced position, slight shoulder rotation to load with small weight shift, short in line stride, controlled with some length in extension, gap to gap approach.  In the outfield, short over the top arm slot, fluid through the ball with footwork, clean transfer and throw, stays under control, 72 mph positional velocity.

Cade Perkins LHP / OF / Manhattan , KS / 2022

Perkins is a projectable 6-foot-1 175-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2022 class. He ran a 4.27 home to first and an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall stance, minimal rhythm, with minimal load, quick leg lift with stride, level path through the zone, swing produced mostly pull to middle of the field line drives.  In the outfield, fluid momentum through the ball, clean exchange on time with momentum from footwork, high three quarters arm slot, 80 mph positional velocity.

Isaac Sinks OF / 2B / Manhattan, KS / 2024

Sinks is a 5-foot-4 130-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2024 class. He ran a 4.93 home to first and had a 67 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a square position in base, early load, in line stride, middle of the field approach.  In the outfield, works behind the ball, keeps momentum with footwork as he works through the ball, clean transfer and throw, over the top arm slot, 61 mph positional velocity.

Brooks Whaley OF / RHP / Rock Creek, KS / 2021

Whaley is a 5-foot-9 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas 2021 class.  He ran a 4.09 home to first and has an 81 mph exit velocity.  At the plate, tall and open stance, raises hands to load with an early in line stride, quick bat speed, middle to pull side contact, high finish with some lift to bat path.  In the outfield, aggressive to the ball, loose and quick arm action, creates powerful momentum through the ball, transfer and footwork in sync, 76 mph positional velocity, high three quarters release, shows quick twitch actions, more to come with physical development.

Bryce Whiteside OF / RHP / N/A, KS / 2024

Whiteside is a 5-foot-7 130-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2024 class. He ran a 5.14 home to first and had a 62 mph exit velocity. At the plate, tall stance, holds hand low with some rhythm pre swing, loads with hands, slightly open stance, swing produced middle to pull side contact during hitting evals.  In the outfield, over the top arm slot, made all transfer cleanly, works behind the ball, 55 mph positional velocity.

Hunter Wohler OF / RHP / Shawnee Heights, KS / 2021

Wohler is a 5-foot-11 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Kansas’ 2021 class. He ran a 4.31 home to first and had a 72 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stand, no load, quick stride with aggressive bat speed to the ball, level path through extension, stays balanced throughout swing.  In the outfield, works behind and through the ball, efficient transfer and throw with momentum towards the target, over the top arm slot, 73 mph positional velocity.
