State Director's Input:
"A name familiar at the top of the Power 25 poll the last several years will begin the year where everyone wants to finish. Head Coach Rick Arnold, despite losing several players from last year’s final 4 squad, has absolutely reloaded as reflected by their lofty #17 national ranking in the Prep Baseball initial Spring Top 50. Featuring a Senior Future Games member, 5 Future Games members, and 4 Super Sophomore Games members, there will be an early bullseye on the Shamrocks' backs. Look for senior SS/RHP Colin Sander (Indiana State) to lead this team both offensively and on the mound, contributing his 88-91 MPH gas (2.49 ERA, 48K’s). Senior utility player Jackson Supsky will look to fill in where needed and be a team leader. Our pick to click this Spring for the Rocks is senior OF Caleb Ricks (Notre Dame) who has flashed serious skills and will be looking to go out with a bang after a big Summer and Fall circuit. 2026 OF/1B Team Kentucky Future Games member Nolan Hosking (Louisville) returns with his big middle of the order bat. Hosking is a terror in the box as evidenced by his 20 extra base hits and .363 AVG. Look for switch hitting OF/1B EJ Milliner (Central Michigan), after a stellar performance at LakePoint for Team Kentucky, to have a big Spring campaign. CF Zach Floyd (Louisville), who is concentrating solely on baseball after showing off an insane skill set at LakePoint (6.43 60, 73.7 AVG bat speed, 358 FT max distance), will look to lock down the OF and be a menace on the bases for opposing teams. C Harper Haywood (Uncommitted) will look to hold down some of the catching duties after his big effort at LakePoint as well. One of the top arms in the entire country is Grayson Willoughby (Kentucky), who had a massive coming out party for Team Kentucky and was dominant in Georgia. Working into the mid 90’s with a real hammer curve ball and a Bugs Bunny changeup, he will be a high follow heading into next year's MLB draft. That’s not all Rick Arnold has at his disposal, as he also will boast 3 players in the Sophomore class ranked in the top 330 in the country with RHP/INF Gray Davis (#119), who won an absurd 11 games as a freshman with 87-91 MPH gas along with 64K’s in 58.2 IP. Smooth swinging OF/LHP Max Phillips (#168 in class) will get his shot this year as well. Phillips has elite bat to ball skills and is one of top left handed hitters in the Nation. He also brings 84-86 MPH heat with above average secondary stuff. LHP Hudson Meredith (#322) has shown an uptick in velocity over the winter and is now in the 87-89 MPH range with much more coming soon. Meredith also offers vicious off speed offerings which very well could give him the highest ceiling of anyone in Kentucky for the class. Another sophomore who should have a breakout season is 2027 OF Jaxson Jett (6.71 60, 79.5 bat speed, 97.7 exit velo) who starred at the Super Sophomore Games as well. The young Sophomores in Louisville will need to meet or exceed expectations in order for them to chase down a second State Title in five years." - Jamie Tessoff
