We are less than TWO WEEKS from opening day for the 2025 KHSAA season! The Prep Baseball KY staff has been hard at work ranking the top 25 teams in the Bluegrass State. We are now individually previewing our top ranked teams as part of our Power 25 countdown. Our next preview belongs to #13 ranked South Warren High School!

SOUTH WARREN: SPARTANS

2024 Recap:

Record: 18-18 (home: 7-3, away: 11-13, neutral: 0-2)

8th overall in Region 4
3rd overall in District 14

Postseason finish: Region 4 quarterfinalists

Offensive stats: 306 H, 223 R, 81 XBH, .314 AVG

Pitching stats: 223.1 IP, 223 H, 130 ER, 207 K, 4.07 ERA

State Director's Input:

"If there is a year for the Spartans to make a serious run at a State Title, this will be it as Head Coach Chris Gage has an absurd amount of experience and talent returning. Led by nationally ranked and former two-time Team Kentucky Future Games standout Ethan Reynolds, who hit .455 with 23 extra base hits and nine leaving the yard last season. Look for MLB scouts to be out in droves to see Reynolds as he is climbing draft boards. It definitely does not stop there, with uber athletic Griffin Rardin (Shelton State) back for his senior campaign. A .363 hitter last year who will also run the heater into the low 90’s. Team Kentucky and Super Sophomore member Camden Page returns with his .323 AVG and will look to contribute on the mound as well. Junior Jaxen Decker returns with his .369 AVG and will look to be an anchor in the outfield. One of the top freshman in the country who will look to make his mark this Spring is Brandon Perkins Jr, who is a walking toolshed with talent for days. On the mound, look for 9 game winner Mikey Coradini to lead this deep and talented staff. If South Warren can find some consistency this Spring, they will undoubtedly be a strong contender to bring a State Title back to Warren County." - Jamie Tessoff
