The Louisville Prospect ID Showcase, held on January 21 at Mockingbird Sports/Louisville Baseball Center, saw some solid outfield prospects.  Today we take a look at the top outfielders from the event, as well as all of the outfielders in attendance.  Stay tuned as we analyze our last position group from the event, the corner infielders, tomorrow.

Top Outfield Performances

Chase Patton, LHP/OF, Class of 2014, Bullitt East HS
6-foot, 185-pound prospect shows athletic outfield actions, plays through the ball, 80 mph arm strength with carry.  Offensively, open stance, squares front side, long stride, good rhythm in swing, good use of lower half, line drive swing plane, registered 80 mph tee exit velocity, ran 5.18 40 yard dash.

Justin Coffey, OF, Class of 2015, Eastern HS
5-foot-11, 180-pound, left-handed hitting prospect with athletic frame, 77 mph arm strength, will gain more arm strength with better throwing mechanics and use of body, needs to be more aggressive playing through the ball. Offensively, hits from open stance, squares front side, lower half works, chest level hand trigger, flat bat path, shows the ability to hit line drives the other way, registered 84 mph tee exit velocity, ran event best 4.81 40 yard dash.  Coffey is an interesting prospect to follow and has the potential to develop into a very good outfield prospect in the class of 2015 with some refinement of his skills.
