Kentucky Player of the Week: Green County RHP Brennen Milby

By Chris Fuller
Kentucky Scouting Director

For a pitcher to win the player of the week award based onMilby pitching stats alone, he has to have done something pretty spectacular.

That's not to slight pitchers at all, rather it's just reality when on any given week a pitcher may only pitch in one game.  That makes it difficult to compete against position players who have had the opportunity to post some gaudy numbers playing 5-6 games a week.

If the schedule works out to where a pitcher throws two games in a week, that could bolster his chances of winning the player of the week award.

That is exactly the case with Green County senior right-hander Brennen Milby

In two starts last week, Milby, an Ohio State recruit, was relatively unhittable.  In 13 innings pitched, Milby allowed 2 hits and no earned runs.  When you factor in that he averaged more than 2 strikeouts per inning with 28 in his 13 innings of work, the numbers jump off the stat sheet.

In honor of his performance on the field last week, Milby has been named the Prep Baseball Report Kentucky Player of the Week.
