Name: Zac Conner
Position: RHP
Grade: 2015
Height/Weight: 6-foot-5/190-pounds
High School: Paul Laurence Dunbar
Ranking: No. 22 in Kentucky's 2015 class

Scouting Notes: 2/16/14 - 6-foot-5, 190-pound prospect with lanky frame and big projectability, uses long arm action through a high ¾ arm slot, good rhythm and tempo in delivery, fastball showed late arm-side life at 85-86 mph, throws a 74-76 mph curveball and 78 mph slider, some inconsistency with the breaking balls but some sliders showed sharp/late break and have the potential to be a swing-and-miss type pitch with further development, showed good command of 76-79 mph changeup with significant sink and fade thrown with good arm action, big upside for this potential high-level prospect.

It should be noted that Conner's scouting notes are from February 2014 which was the last time we saw him healthy.  He had a sub-par outing at the Top Prospect Games in June and was diagnosed with a torn tendon in his elbow shortly after that event that required surgery (not Tommy John).  Conner expects be back to 100 percent and participating in the Preseason All-State Showcase on Feb.14.

PBR: What schools have you been hearing from?

Conner:  I’ve heard a lot from Spalding University, John A. Logan College, Wabash Valley, Walters State, Northwestern Ohio, Centre, and a little bit from Murray State.

PBR: Have you developed a relationship with any specific coaches?

Conner:  The two college coaches I’ve gotten to know pretty well are Coach Sheetinger at Spalding and Coach Kirkpatrick at John A. Logan.

PBR: Have you taken any visits? If so, please describe each visit.

Conner:  The only schools I’ve visited are Centre and Spalding. Centre was a beautiful campus and Spalding had a lot to offer from a baseball standpoint, and downtown Louisville always has a lot going on.

PBR: Do you have any visits scheduled?

Conner:  As of now I should be visiting John A. Logan on December 22nd and Wabash on January 1st.

PBR: Do you have any offers at this stage?

Conner:  I only have offers from John A. Logan and Spalding right now, which is aggravating to be honest. I really appreciate those schools offering because it feels like they are two of few coaches who believe in what I can do and the work I put in

PBR: Do you have a timeline for your recruitment?

Conner:  I don’t. It’s a big decision for me and I want to make sure I think about everything and talk it over with my father before I make any commitment

PBR: Do you have a favorite at this stage?

Conner:  I don’t exactly have a favorite, I just want to go somewhere I will get to play. I’ve kind of developed a chip on my shoulder in this recruiting process and am just ready to get to college and show all these players and coaches that don’t think much of me what I can do

PBR: How has Prep Baseball Report been able to help you in the recruiting process?

Conner:  PBR has been huge for me. They have provided me great exposure, and considering I have really only been healthy and pitching at 100% at one showcase, they have been able to do it with such a small sample space. It means a lot what you guys have done for me and I am a great example of how beneficial this company can be for high school kids.

PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?

Conner:  My GPA is 3.5 and my ACT is 24.
