For the first time since Kentucky’s initial 2016 player rankings were released nearly a year ago, a new player has taken over the top spot.

RHP Cameron Planck (Rowan County HS) has emerged as the top prospect in the state with electrifying performances at both the Kentucky Underclass Games and Prep Baseball Report Future Games this summer.

At the Underclass Games in July, the 6-foot-3, 195-pound Planck was dominant with a fastball that topped at 90 mph.  He recorded five strikeouts in his two innings of work at the event.

A week later, Planck ran his fastball up to 91, and his 78-81 mph slider had scouts buzzing at the Prep Baseball Report Future Games.  In fact, his slider is a true separator pitch with the potential to be a wipeout pitch in the future, and Planck used his arsenal to record four strikeouts over his three innings of work at the event.

Planck, who received interest from several high-profile college programs following his summer performances, committed to Louisville just a few days after the Future Games Event.
