Sophomore Spotlight: RHP Hunter Sullivan

Hunter Sullivan, RHP, Elizabethtown HS, 2016sullivan

Hunter Sullivan is a 5-foot-10, 165-pound RHP who emerged as a top pitching prospect in Kentucky’s 2016 class at the Underclass Showcase in Louisville in July.

Sullivan’s arm is loose and quick, and his ¾ arm slot produces good arm-side run on his 81-84 mph fastball.  His curveball showed inconsistent 11/5 action at 68-71 mph that will undoubtedly get better, and his changeup showed the makings of a very effective pitch  at 71-72 mph with good arm-side run and sink.  Sullivan showed good command of the changeup and throws it with good arm action.

Sullivan, currently ranked No.9 in Kentucky’s 2016 class, will be pitching at the Preseason All-State Showcase on February 16 at Champions Baseball Academy in Lexington.  He has established himself as a potential selection for the Midwest Future Games Team Kentucky roster in August.
