It’s been a long, action-packed fall season, both at the state and national levels. Much has happened over the course of the two-plus months, all of which is reflected in our updated Top 400 overall Class of 2017 rankings.

It is important to note that the PBR overall rankings only include states that we intimately know from our boots-and-the-ground scouting staff. The updated Top 400 rankings is comprised of our current 33-state coverage area, which now includes recently added Oklahoma. Texas, which was launched last month, is not yet included in the overall rankings. The PBR Draft 100, which lists the top 100 draft prospects in the country, will be updated and released later this week.

As is the case every fall, there were several players who raised their games to unexpected levels, while many of the long-established prospects held firm at the top of the list.

OF/RHP Jordon Adell (Ballard HS, KY) headlines the list. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Louisville recruit features undeniable top-of-the-scale athleticism and explosive tools. RHP Blayne Enlow (St. Amant HS, LA) continued to cement his status as arguably the class’s top right-handed prospect after the 6-foot-4, 169-pound LSU recruit dominated for the USA 18U National Team en route to winning a gold medal. Enlow possesses that rare blend of high-ceiling upside with present electric stuff and pitchability.

The state of Oklahoma impacted the top 10 with a pair of prospects: 3B Ryan Vilade (Stillwater HS, OK) and OF Conner Uselton (Southmoore HS, OK), both Oklahoma State recruits.

Florida’s class is especially strong, led by SS Brady McConnell (Merritt Island HS, FL), C M.J. Melendez (Westminster Christian HS, FL), RHP/3B Joe Perez (Archbishop McCarthy HS, FL), SS/3B Mark Vientos (American Heritage HS, FL), 1B Alex Toral (Archbishop McCarthy HS and SS Jeter Downs (SLAM Charter, FL)
