What's On Deck In Kentucky

By Chris Fuller
Kentucky Scouting Director

I would like to take a moment to say thank you for the many phone calls, emails, facebook messages, and tweets we have received from players, parents, high school and college coaches expressing support and excitement for PBR coming to Kentucky.  We are just as excited to provide the most in depth coverage of high school baseball the state has ever seen and to promote and assist players in achieving their dreams of playing college baseball.

Before we talk about what is on deck, let's take a look at what participants of Prep Baseball Report events receive:

  • Online profile with verified stats from the event (velocities, 60 times, pop times, etc)
  • Video of performance hosted in each player's profile
  • Exposure to college coaches
  • Top players ranked and identified
  • Write-ups of players on the PBR site following the event
  • Numbered Under Armour jersey
  • Opportunity to earn a spot to Invite Only PBR events

What's on deck?

2013 Player Rankings
In the next few weeks, we will be updating and expanding our player rankings for the class of 2013.  Who will move into the top 25?  What new players will appear as we significantly expand the rankings?  Stay tuned.

2014 Player Rankings
We are very close to releasing our initial player rankings for the class of 2014.  There have already been a few college commitments in this class.  Stay tuned to find out who shakes out where in our initial rankings, and as we compile more information and see more players at our winter events, updates and expansion to the rankings will occur.

2015 Player Rankings
As we move through the winter months and continue to compile more information and see players at our winter events, look for the release of our initial 2015 player rankings as we get closer to the high school baseball season.

Winter Events
Our first winter event is now on the schedule, a Prospect Identification Showcase in Louisville.  More winter events will be confirmed soon in various parts of the state, so keep checking the site over the next 1-2 weeks for dates and locations.  Winter events are a big opportunity for players to get their profiles and video on the PBR site and to earn spots in upcoming invite only events.

Preseason All-State Showcase
This INVITE ONLY event will be open to the top high school players in the state.  Players must receive an invitation from PBR to attend this event which will be the final PBR event before the high school season begins.  Date and location coming soon.

Kentucky Top Prospect Games
This INVITE ONLY will feature the top players from the class of 2014 and 2015 in the state in a 2-day midweek event in June.  The first day will feature a pro-style workout followed by game play on Day 2.  This same event by PBR Ohio drew 100 college coaches last year.  Stay tuned for the date and location of this event.

Midwest Future Games powered by Under Armour
This INVITE ONLY event is one of the top events in the country .  All of the states in the Prep Baseball Report coverage area (Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin) come together the first weekend in August for a one of a kind event.  A hand selected team of players from the class of 2015 will be formed for each state and will play for PBR bragging rightsThis event drew well over 100 college coaches last year at the University of Illinois.  Stay tuned for big news regarding the location and details of this event.
