Scouting Report
10/20/24
+ A former Future Gamer out of Kentucky, Whisman showed off big arm strength from the crouch that also translates to the bump. Standing at a sturdy, 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, Whisman reached 80 mph from the crouch, translating to pops ranging from 1.86 to 2.01, and also hopped on the bump to pitch at 85-87 with an above average breaking ball. Offensively, the primary backstop showed off the ability to compress and backspin the baseball with a more-direct path that allows him to leverage the ball at the front of the zone.

Defense: Smooth, fluid catch and throw, 1.88-2.01 pop time with 81mph velocity

Fastball: 85-88 spin rate north of 2300
Curveball: 70-73
Slider: 77-80 with sink
Changeup: 79-81
Comments: One of the top uncommitted names in Kentucky, as well as being the top ranked uncommitted catcher in the 2025 class. Effortless power at the plate and balanced strength on the mound make Whisman a legit two-way player that can compete at the next level. The Future Games alum is aiming to continue to be a staple in the Shelby County lineup during his senior year, having a big impact in the box, on the mound and behind the plate.
