Position: OF/RHP
Body: 5’10” 170lbs
Hitting: Starts with a tall, narrow stance. Slow and contained load, shifting the weight to the back leg before sinking into the legs and engaging the hips through the zone. Displays good gap-to-gap contact. Hand speed of 24.7 and bat speed of 74.4 for an exit velocity up to 92.5.
Defense: Very fluid and graceful movements all around, from moving the feet smoothly to an effortless throwing motion and follow through. OF velocity up to an impressive 87.
Pitching: Relaxed, coiled wind up motion into a balanced leg kick before extension, staying mostly upright with a ¾ arm angle.
Fastball: 80-81 max spin rate 2345
Curveball: 67-69
Changeup: 73-74
Comments: Hoffman has continued to develop throughout the past couple of seasons and is looking to step up this year especially and lead the Great Crossing lineup after losing some key seniors. With a 6.74s 60yd dash, the 5’10” 170lb two-way led the team in stolen bases in the 2024 season, as well as producing valuable offensive numbers from the middle of the order. Hoffman also secured key innings in relief on the mound, averaging almost 1.5 strikeouts per inning. The senior OF/RHP has gained ample strength while keeping his true athleticism and certainly has an impressive season approaching.
