2018 Louisiana Player Of The Year: 1B Cade Beloso

The 2018 spring high school season in Louisiana generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout all corners of the state. As the spring high school season comes to a close, Prep Baseball Report is excited to announce one player who emerged ahead of the competition at all levels in the state of Louisiana. This player has been selected not only for their outstanding statistical numbers, but also for their overall effect on their high school program.
Beloso, a senior first baseman from John Curtis HS, produced a strong statistical season while helping lead his team to a repeat of the Division-I state championship, a semi-final run at the NHSI, and the No. 1 Overall ranking in the PBR Power 25.
The 5-foot-11, 215-pound Beloso hit .489 on the season with a 1.703 OPS, 13 home runs, 38 runs scored, and 38 RBI. Beloso is committed to Louisiana State University.
Beloso’s all-around performance, as well as the impact he has had for John Curtis High School, has earned him the 2018 Prep Baseball Report Louisiana State Player of the Year honors.
Beloso has been selected by Louisiana Scouting Director Trey Sofio and the team of area scouts who covered the high school baseball season throughout the spring. The Prep Baseball Report staff has been diligently scouting and covering baseball games at baseball diamonds across the state this spring to bring parents, athletes and fans the most comprehensive coverage of amateur baseball across the United States.
