Team Summary

John Curtis has a rich tradition of winning and winning often when it comes to baseball.  The Patriots have won a total of 9 state championships, with their most recent, being back to back state titles in 2017 and 2018.  Head Coach Jeff Curtis says, "The goal for us will always be the same.....to win a state championship.  We always feel that we are helping develop Champions for Life through the journey of chasing a state championship."  Luckily, for the Patriots, they have a few guys that were a part of their 2018 championship club and those guys will provide veteran leadership, as they know what it takes to win it all.  Three year starters Michael Curtis and Logan O'Neill will be the two guys relied upon heavily on the mound for John Curtis.  Curtis had the opportunity to play college baseball, but recently accepted an academic scholarship to attend Northeastern University in Boston, MA.  O'Neill, a University of New Orleans Commit, ran his FB up to 87 mph last summer at the PBR Future Games.  The RHP also spun a SL with late, biting action down in the zone with depth.  Both of these guys can and will play multiple positions this spring.  Versatility is a strength of this club and other guys such as Austin Ackel, Buddy Micheu, and Reggie Bergeron can move around on the diamond as well.  Michael O'Brien, a Tulane commit, was a standout from the PBR Louisiana 2020 All-State Games in November.  The physical LHH OF should find himself in the middle of the order.  Finding the right combination and recipe will be something that the Patriots will have to figure out as their season begins and progresses.  The Catholic League will be loaded this year with St. Paul's, Holy Cross, and many others.  This John Curtis team is motivated to win their 10th state title and are up to the challenge of carrying on the tradition of their baseball program.
