February 3, 2025
The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Louisiana.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Sulphur, LA, home of the LHSAA State Championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes a reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Louisiana. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, followed by our Power 25 Rankings release, and our always popular Game of the Week segment.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the Bayou State. Each week, we will be releasing our Player and Pitcher of the Week, updating our Power 25 Rankings, as well as additional content that is focused strictly on high school baseball in Louisiana.
*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches. If you have not received a questionnaire and would like to fill one out, please email State Director Alex Armand at [email protected]

Team Outlook
The Doyle Tigers enter the 2025 season with a rebuilding mindset after an impressive five-year stretch of success, highlighted by a 2024 semifinal appearance. With a youthful roster and significant turnover, Head Coach Tim Beatty and his staff will focus on developing talent and improving with each game as they navigate this transitional year.
The Tigers’ strength will once again lie on the mound, as pitching has been a consistent cornerstone of the program. However, the team is expected to start slow due to the lack of varsity experience and a lineup featuring numerous new faces. Despite the challenges, the Tigers aim to build momentum throughout the season, with hopes of making another deep playoff run.
The 2025 pitching staff will be led by junior Parker Taylor, who brings experience and a solid 2024 campaign (2-1, 1 save).
Joining Taylor on the staff will be a mix of new contributors, including:
-Junior Braxton Stewart
-Junior Bryce Hutchinson
-Sophomore Ethan Popson
-Freshman Cooper Yuratich
With a blend of returning talent and promising young arms, Doyle’s success will largely depend on this group’s ability to keep games competitive.
The Tigers’ lineup will feature six to seven new starters, creating opportunities for younger players to step up. The projected competition and key positions include:
1B: Senior Brian Kersey / Senior Brady Burrescia
2B: Junior Kayden McMorris / Freshman Brody Keen
SS: Junior Parker Taylor
3B: Sophomore Tate Albin / Freshman Zach Ray
C: Senior Easton Benesta / Freshman Zach Ray
In the outfield, several players are vying for playing time, offering versatility and competition. Senior Easton Benesta, a third-year starter, is expected to anchor the lineup and lead the team offensively.
While Doyle may experience growing pains early in the season, the coaching staff is committed to fostering growth and improvement. The Tigers will lean on their pitching staff to remain competitive, with the hope that the young lineup finds its rhythm as the season progresses.
Senior leadership from players like Easton Benesta and Brian Kersey, combined with the development of underclassmen, will be pivotal in determining how far this team can go. By focusing on game-to-game improvement, the Doyle Tigers aim to position themselves for another strong postseason push in 2025.
