2025 Team Preview: Glenbrook High School
December 26, 2024
The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Louisiana.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Sulphur, LA, home of the LHSAA State Championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes a reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Louisiana. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, followed by our Power 25 Rankings release, and our always popular Game of the Week segment.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the Bayou State. Each week, we will be releasing our Player and Pitcher of the Week, updating our Power 25 Rankings, as well as additional content that is focused strictly on high school baseball in Louisiana.
*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches. If you have not received a questionnaire and would like to fill one out, please email State Director Alex Armand at [email protected]

Team Outlook
Glenbrook finished the 2024 season with an overall record of 16-11 and entered the playoffs as the #11 seed in the LHSAA Select D-IV playoffs. The Apaches had one heck of a run last year, as they knocked off defending State Champion #3 seed Ouachita Christian in the quarterfinals, before defeating #2 seed Covenant Christian in the semifinals. Their season ultimately came to an end in the State Title game with a loss at the hands of #1 seed Opelousas Catholic, who was one the most talented teams in the state last year, regardless of class.
There's reason for optimism heading into 2025 for Head Coach Tony Sanders and company, as the team only graduated one senior from last year's team and they return their star two-player in senior Easton Sanders. The Louisiana Tech recruit was sensational last season for the Apaches, as he finished the year hitting .407 with 1 HR, 7 2B, 15 RBI, and drew 41 BB. He was equally impressive on the mound with a 9-2 record and 1.59 ERA to go along with 95 K's, and he came through when it mattered the most, against both Ouachita Christian in the quarterfinals and Covenant Christian in the semifinals, both of which were upset wins for Glenbrook.
Sophomore Sam Riccord is the lone returning pitcher who has varsity experience along with Sanders, so the Apaches will definitely have to have some guys step up to build the pitching staff out in 2025.
Offensively, there's plenty to like about what the rest of the lineup will look like around Sanders. Senior Jackson Waller was a key fixture in last year's lineup and is back for another season, after hitting .329 with 1 HR, 12 2B, 2 3B, and 20 RBI a season ago.
Fellow senior Dawson Day is another veteran returner who hit .307 with 21 RBI last year. Senior Seth Mangrum is a likely outfielder and senior Preston Frye will be relied upon on the mound and the infield as well.
There's a good group of young guys to mix in with this strong senior class too. Sophomores Ryan Reagan and Hudson Glasscock are two underclassmen to keep an eye on, as is 2029 Brayden Watkins, who is an 8th grader that is looking to earn varsity innings on the mound.
As we mentioned last year in our preview of Glenbrook, Coach Sanders always plays a tough schedule, which makes his teams battled-tested come playoff time. Last year, the Apaches played eight games against Class 5A opponents to give you an idea of what type of schedule they play.
Glenbrook made it all the way to the semifinals in 2023 and made it to the State Title game last season, so will they make another run in 2025? They certainly have the pieces of the puzzle to do it, especially with the return of a true #1 pitcher in Easton Sanders. We'll put our money on Coach Sanders and the fantastic staff at Glenbrook to figure out the rest of the pitching staff over the coming months, as we firmly believe that the Apaches will once again be a title contender come late-April and early-May.
