Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Sulphur, LA, home of the LHSAA State Championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes a reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Louisiana. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, followed by our Power 25 Rankings release, and our always popular Game of the Week segment.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the Bayou State. Each week, we will be releasing our Player and Pitcher of the Week, updating our Power 25 Rankings, as well as additional content that is focused strictly on high school baseball in Louisiana.

Team Outlook
The Grace Christian Warriors are coming off a strong 2024 campaign, making it all the way to the state semifinals before falling just short. Head Coach Josh Brown has established a winning culture, and the 2025 season looks promising for the Warriors, with their pitching staff leading the way. However, the team will need to address some defensive questions in the outfield and find consistency in the bottom half of the lineup to reach their full potential.
The Warriors boast an impressive rotation headlined by freshman lefty Logan Maricle, who emerged as the team’s ace with a 7-3 record as an eighth grader. Senior Kanyon Wright provides a dominant presence as a two-way player, combining power at the plate with a 9-2 record on the mound. Senior Maddox Attales is another key piece, providing versatility as a shortstop and pitcher, where he went 5-0 with two saves in 2024. With additional contributions expected from Brady McDaniel, who went 3-2 last season, the Warriors have a deep and talented staff capable of keeping them in games against any opponent.
The top of the lineup is anchored by Kanyon Wright, whose 11 home runs and 55 RBIs in 2024 make him a fearsome hitter in Class B. Maddox Attales is a table-setter with a .442 batting average and 15 stolen bases, adding speed and consistency at the plate. Catcher Brayden Wells (.320 in 2024) provides additional pop and leadership behind the plate.
The Warriors are facing question marks in the outfield, where several players are battling for starting roles. Talan Epnett looks to take over center field, but the corner spots are up for grabs with Logan Maricle, Dru Horn, Colton Thiels, and Taylor Floyd all vying for playing time. Solidifying this group defensively will be a critical factor in the team’s success.
While the top of the order is stacked, the Warriors will need contributions from the lower half of the lineup to balance the offense. Players like Cooper Courtright at second base and outfielders such as Colton Thiels and Taylor Floyd will need to step up and provide timely hitting.
With a dominant pitching staff and several proven offensive contributors, the Grace Christian Warriors are poised to make another deep playoff run in 2025. If the outfield defense stabilizes and the bottom half of the lineup produces, this team has the potential to claim a state championship. Coach Josh Brown will be leaning on his senior leaders to guide the younger players and set the tone for another successful season.
