2025 Team Preview: Many High School
January 15, 2025
The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Louisiana.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Sulphur, LA, home of the LHSAA State Championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes a reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Louisiana. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, followed by our Power 25 Rankings release, and our always popular Game of the Week segment.
Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the Bayou State. Each week, we will be releasing our Player and Pitcher of the Week, updating our Power 25 Rankings, as well as additional content that is focused strictly on high school baseball in Louisiana.
*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches. If you have not received a questionnaire and would like to fill one out, please email State Director Alex Armand at [email protected]

Team Outlook
The Many Tigers enter the 2025 season with high hopes, buoyed by a deep pitching staff that will be the backbone of the team. Tuffy Cutrer leads a group of experienced arms that also includes Lathan Lee, Payton Hyden, and promising underclassmen Kaghan Miller and Daniel Thomas. This depth gives Many the ability to compete with any team in Class 2A, especially as the season progresses.
Top Upperclassmen
-Senior RHP/INF Tuffy Cutrer: A 1st Team All-District and All-State pitcher, Cutrer returns as the ace of the staff after an outstanding 2024 season. He went 9-2 with a 1.35 ERA and 85 strikeouts, cementing himself as one of the top arms in Class 2A. In addition to his dominance on the mound, Cutrer brings leadership and versatility as an infielder.
-Junior LHP/OF Lathan Lee: Lee transitions into a full-time starting pitcher role after going 3-1 with two saves in 2024. The left-hander has the tools to be a reliable arm in the rotation while also patrolling center field and batting at the top of the order, showcasing his two-way impact.
-Junior RHP/INF Payton Hyden: Entering his third season as a starter, Hyden is one of the Tigers' most well-rounded players. Known for his disciplined, line-drive approach at the plate, Hyden was a key hitter last season and adds a power arm with swing-and-miss potential on the mound.
-Junior C Jonas Hendrickson: Hendrickson returns for his third year behind the plate and brings athleticism and power to the lineup. As a great runner for a catcher, he adds an extra dimension offensively, while his experience and skill set make him the anchor of the Tigers’ defense.
-Senior OF Brock Sylvia: A three-year starter in the outfield, Sylvia brings valuable experience and consistency to the Tigers. He will be relied on as a top-of-the-order hitter and a steady presence in the lineup as Many looks to develop its younger players.
Top Underclassmen
-Sophomore INF/RHP Kaghan Miller: Miller emerged as one of Many’s best hitters as a freshman and will be counted on for a big role this season. Splitting time between shortstop and third base, Miller will bat in the top half of the order while continuing to contribute key innings on the mound.
-Sophomore INF/RHP Daniel Thomas: Thomas adds speed and athleticism to the middle infield and will also see significant time on the mound. A high-potential bat, Thomas is a great baserunner who will play a vital role in Many’s lineup as one of the team’s top underclassmen contributors.
The Tigers’ biggest challenge will be overcoming their relative lack of experience in the lineup. With half of the starters stepping into full-time roles for the first time, how quickly they adjust to varsity competition will determine the team’s success. Fortunately, the presence of veteran leaders like Cutrer, Sylvia, and Hendrickson provides a solid foundation for the younger players to develop.
If Many’s offense can gain enough confidence and consistency to match its pitching strength, this team has the potential to make a deep playoff run and improve upon last year’s second-round exit. Coach Toby Remedies and his staff will look to blend the team’s talented mix of youth and experience into a cohesive unit capable of contending come playoff time.
