2025 Team Preview: Oak Grove High School

Alex Armand
Louisiana Scouting Director

The 2025 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state.  Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Louisiana.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Sulphur, LA, home of the LHSAA State Championships, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes a reality.  We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Louisiana.  We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, followed by our Power 25 Rankings release, and our always popular Game of the Week segment.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the Bayou State.  Each week, we will be releasing our Player and Pitcher of the Week, updating our Power 25 Rankings, as well as additional content that is focused strictly on high school baseball in Louisiana.

*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches.  If you have not received a questionnaire and would like to fill one out, please email State Director Alex Armand at [email protected]

Team Outlook

The Oak Grove Tigers enter the 2025 season riding the momentum of their unprecedented fourth consecutive State Championship. Under the guidance of Head Coach Ty Rollinson, the Tigers have built a dynasty on experience, depth, and a winning culture. This year’s squad looks poised to contend once again, thanks to a seasoned group of returning players who know how to rise to the occasion.

Experience and depth are the defining traits of this year's Oak Grove Tigers. With six starters returning from last year’s championship team, including four players who have been key contributors to all four state titles, the Tigers bring a wealth of postseason experience to the diamond. The leadership and chemistry of this group will be critical as they tackle a challenging schedule designed to prepare them for another deep playoff run.

Coach Rollinson emphasized the value of his team’s preparation:
"We have a very seasoned group of guys back this year. We're looking forward to a very challenging schedule, and hopefully, that will prepare us to make another successful run in the postseason."

Top Returning Players

-Senior 1B/DH Tanner Duff (6'3", 240, R/R): Duff is a cornerstone of the Tigers' lineup and has been a consistent power threat for the past four years. A middle-of-the-lineup bat, he brings the ability to drive in runs in critical situations. Last season, Duff hit .347 with 15 doubles, 2 home runs, and 28 RBIs. His presence will anchor the offense in 2025.

-Senior INF/RHP Jackson Bradley (6’5”, 225, R/R): Bradley’s versatility and production make him one of the most valuable players on the roster. As last year’s leadoff hitter, he set the tone offensively with a .444 average, 8 doubles, and 22 RBIs while showing the ability to adapt to different lineup roles. On the mound, Bradley posted a 4-2 record over 48.1 innings with 52 strikeouts. His dual-threat ability will be pivotal.

-Senior INF/RHP Seth Ray (6’0”, 220, R/R): Another dual-position standout, Ray has been a staple in the Tigers’ success at both the plate and on the mound. He hit .382 with 6 doubles, 2 home runs, and 21 RBIs last season while boasting a 10-2 record as a pitcher with a 2.60 ERA over 63 innings and 61 strikeouts. Ray’s steady presence will be a key to Oak Grove’s pursuit of a fifth straight title.

-Senior OF Luke Simmons (6’2”, 175, R/L): Simmons has a knack for delivering in the biggest moments, earning State Championship Game MVP honors in two of the last three seasons. A clutch performer, he hit .345 last year with 5 doubles, 3 triples, and 18 RBIs. His ability to rise to the occasion will be vital in high-pressure situations.

With a roster stacked with seasoned veterans and proven champions, Oak Grove is undoubtedly the team to beat on the Non-Select Division IV side of the LHSAA playoffs. The Tigers' experience and depth give them an edge, but the challenging schedule they’ve embraced will test their resolve. If they can navigate the regular season and peak at the right time, there’s no reason to believe they can’t capture an unprecedented fifth straight state title.

The 2025 Oak Grove Tigers are ready to add another chapter to their storied legacy, and all eyes will be on them as they aim to cement their place as one of the greatest dynasties in Louisiana high school baseball history.
