Commitment Spotlight - 2025 Jack Ruckert

Alex Armand
Louisiana Scouting Director

We recently came out with our 2025 State Rankings and 2025 Jack Ruckert (Catholic BR H.S.) took the #1 spot.  This week, the RHP/SS, announced his commitment to Coach Jay Johnson and Louisiana State University.  Ruckert was a member of our 2020 Junior Future Games team and saw some playing time as an 8th grader at Catholic BR High School last spring.  Below, we discuss what led him to commit to the Tigers, his recruitment process, and his experience at the 2020 PBR Junior Future Games.

-Congratulations on committing to Louisiana State University.  What led you to commit to the Tigers?

Thank you!  LSU has always been my dream school.  Growing up in Baton Rouge and watching players like Josh Smith, Kramer Robertson, and others play at "The Box", I've always wanted to wear that purple and gold and bring a championship back to my hometown.

-All players have people that have helped them along their journey.  Who would you like to thank for helping you get to this point today?

I thank God for giving me the talent to play the game that I love.  My family for all of their support, travel, and hours of BP and bullpens.  I've had the best coaches growing up and training at Traction and now with the Knights, and at Catholic High School with Coach Bass.  I've also greatly benefited from playing with some of the best players who have pushed me to get better, and there's a lot more work to do.

-You are the 3rd player off of our 2020 Junior Future Games team from Louisiana to announce their college commitment.  What did you enjoy the most out of attending last summer's PBR Junior Future Games?

Representing my state, playing with new teammates, and making a great run while we were at Lakepoint.  What an amazing facility to play at!  We had great players from all over the state, and played as a team to advance to the Final Four.  It was a blast.

-What can high school fans expect our of Catholic High School this spring?

They can expect a team that plays as a FAMILY, is selfless, has great Senior leadership with deep talent at all of the key spots, especially pitching, and has their eyes dead set on Sulphur.  We coming.  I'm really excited.  It's going to be a great season at Grizzly Field for the Bears!
