The 2017 prep regular season has concluded, and playoff action around the state is well underway. Today, Prep Baseball Report Louisiana has compiled a list of miscellaneous notes that have been passed our way over the last few days.

+ Nicholls State recruit, 2017 IF Will Ethridge (Catholic(BR)) went 7-for-10 last week with 6 runs scored and 4 stolen bases.

+ Austin Clemmens (Haughton) threw two complete games last week, allowing zero earned runs, striking out 8, while only allowing seven hits and walking two. His teammate, Nick Heckman, tossed a complete game shutout, only allowing three hits in Haughton’s upset over three-time defending 5A state champion, Barbe, in the first round of the playoffs.

+ Louisiana-Lafayette recruit, 2017 OF Jeff Elkins (Ascension Episcopal) finished the regular season with a .652 batting average, .730 on-base percentage, 1.213 slugging percentage, 12 doubles, 10 home runs, 59 RBI, and 22 stolen bases. In his first round playoff matchup, Elkins went 2-for-2 with a home run and double.

+ 2017 1B Hunter Bell (Chalmette) hit five home runs in three games last week. Bell finished the season with a .447 batting average, 10 home runs, and 43 RBI.

+ 2018 RHP Jacob Hammond (Ouachita), currently ranked No. 16 in Louisiana’s 2018 class, finished the regular season with 68 innings pitched, 86 strikeouts, 22 walks, and a 2.16 earned run average.

+ Louisiana State recruit, 2017 OF Jacob Pearson (West Monroe) finished the regular season with a .500 batting average, .596 on-base percentage, 11 home runs, 14 doubles, and 17 stolen bases. Pearson also hit a home run in his first at-bat of the post-season.

+ Louisiana State recruit, 2017 OF Daniel Cabrera (Parkview Baptist) finished the regular season with a .500 batting average, .611 on-base percentage, 8 doubles, 4 home runs, 21 RBI, and 10 stolen bases.

+  Justin Goetzmann (Comeaux) went 5-for-8 last week with a .727 on-base percentage, and 1.000 slugging percentage

+ Louisiana State recruit, 2017 RHP Blayne Enlow (St. Amant) finished the regular season with 57.2 innings pitched, 3 earned runs, 86 strikeouts, and 4 walks.

+ Tulane recruit, 2018 1B Cade Beloso (John Curtis) finished the regular season with a .447 batting average, .603 on-base percentage, .941 slugging percentage, 18 doubles, 7 home runs, and 35 RBI.

+ Louisiana-Lafayette recruit, 2017 SS Hayden Cantrelle (Teurlings Catholic) finished the regular season with a .391 batting average, .5 triples, 7 doubles, 4 home runs, 27 RBI, and 18 stolen bases.

+ Louisiana State recruit, 2017 OF Nick Webre (Teurlings Catholic) finished the regular season with a .440 batting average, .780 slugging percentage, 13 doubles, 6 home runs, 39 RBI, 40 runs scored, and 23 stolen bases.

+ 2019 RHP Drew McDaniel (St. Thomas More), currently ranked No. 12 in Louisiana’s 2019 class, finished the regular season 6 and 1 with 46 innings pitched, 47 strikeouts, 18 walks, 0.91 earned run average, and a .168 batting average against.

+ Louisiana-Lafayette recruit, 2017 LHP Austin Perrin (Hahnville) finished the regular season 6 and 2 with 56 innings pitched, 86 strikeouts, and a 1.00 earned run average.

+ 2018 OF Lloyd Nash (St. Charles Catholic) went 7-for-11 last week with two doubles, six runs scored and seven stolen bases. Nash finished the regular season with a .398 batting average, .580 on-base percentage, 5 doubles, 17 RBI, 36 runs scored, and was 34-for34 in stolen base attempts.

+ Mississippi recruit, 2018 C CJ Willis (Ruston) finished the regular season with a .413 batting average, .673 slugging percentage, 11 doubles, 3 home runs, and 23 RBI.

+ 2018 RHP Bart Lane Thomas (Walker), currently ranked No. 18 in Louisiana’s 2018 class finished the regular season with 61 innings pitched, 62 strikeouts, and a 1.49 earned run average. Thomas also tossed a complete game in Walker’s first round upset of Destrehan.

+ Louisiana-Lafayette recruit, 2017 SS Connor Dupuy (North Vermilion) finished the regular season with a .416 batting average, 10 doubles, 4 home runs, 33 RBI, 50 runs scored, and 30 stolen bases.
