Player of the Week

 

 

Jackson Ford OF / LHP / Holy Savior Menard, LA / 2022

If you're a college program and look for an uncommitted senior outfielder, you may want to look no further than Jackson Ford.  The left-handed hitter had a monster week at the plate for the Eagles, hitting in the lead-off spot.  Ford collected eleven hits in thirteen at-bats (.846 AVG), with one homerun, three doubles, one triple, eight runs scored, three runs batted in, and three stolen bases.

 

 

 

Pitcher of the Week

 

 

Dwayne (DJ) Primeaux LHP / OF / Central, LA / 2022

Primeaux has been having a stellar senior campaign and came through big for the Wildcats again this weekend.  The LSU signee matched up against district rival Walker HS and turned in a brilliant performance on the mound, as he tossed a complete game three hit shutout, with seven strikeouts.  He also hit two homeruns and a triple, as Central defeated Walker by a score of 10-0.

Dagan Bruno / John Curtis Christian, LA / 2024

Bruno had a nice week at the plate for the Patriots, as he collected seven hits in eleven at-bats (.636 AVG) with four runs batted in.  One of his seven hits was a walk-off base hit to beat Rummel HS by a score of 6-5. 

 

 

Gabe Wilmouth SS / Sacred Heart Ville Platte, LA / 2023

The junior shortstop did a little bit of everything for Sacred Heart Ville Platte last week.  At the plate, he tallied nine hits in twelve at-bats, with two doubles, one triple, and seven runs batted in.  The leadoff hitter also plays shortstop and recorded twelve put-outs on defense. 

 

 

Jack Markey / Ascension CHRISTIAN, LA / 2022

Markey was stellar both offensively and on the mound last week.  He recorded six hits in thirteen at-bats (.462 AVG) with one double and three runs batted in.  On the mound, Markey picked up a win over district rival St, John, by going five innings and giving up only one earned run and five hits. 

 

 

Wyatt Buratt / Ascension CHRISTIAN, LA / 2025

The freshman had a big week for the Lions last week.  Buratt hit .400 on the week, collecting six hits in fifteen at-bats, with one double, one triple, and three runs batted in.  In two pitching appearances, he logged eight innings on the mound and gave up zero earned runs and three hits, while tallying eight strikeouts. 

 

 

Ashton Healy C / RHP / Carencro, LA / 2023

Healy has become somewhat of a regular in our Diamond Notes segments and had another good week for the Bears.  In fourteen at-bats, he collected eight hits with one double, one triple, two homeruns, and ten runs batted in.

 

 

AJ Manasco C / Many, LA / 2022

The LSU-Shreveport signee had another big week for Many HS.  He hit at a .857 clip for the week with four runs batted in, and also threw out two baserunners.

 

 

Jackson Landry 1B / OF / Ascension Catholic, LA / 2024

The big bodied first baseman has been on a tear this spring and showed no signs of slowing down last week.  Landry picked up seven hits in eleven at-bats with five doubles and nine runs batted in. 

 

 

Brady Neyland OF / RHP / Zachary, LA / 2022

Neyland, one of the top uncommitted 2022 prospects in Louisiana, put together another good week last week for the Broncos.  He hit at a .715 clip for the week with a .750 on-base percentage and collected four runs batted in, as well as two stolen bases.
