With the close of the 2015 spring season on Saturday, Prep Baseball Report is releasing its final Power 25 rankings, along with its players of the year award in 5A-1A.

Reminder: Prep Baseball Report Louisiana will be hosting its first event on Monday May 25, 2015 at St. Thomas Aquinas HS in Hammond, LA. The Underclass Trials is an open event for 2017 & 2018 graduates. Very few spaces remain, so do not wait to register. All participants at the Underclass Trials will have their performance videotaped and hosted in their player profile, along with their verified statistics and scouting reports at PrepBaseballReport.com, which is subscribed to by more than 400 colleges and pro scouts across the country. Top players will be listed accordingly in our statewide player rankings.

Class 5A- In what seemed like a rebuilding year for perennial powerhouse Barbe HS, the young squad caught fire in the playoffs and took home yet another state championship. Seniors Braden Comeaux, Shane Selman and Hunter Feduccia helped to Barbe to repeat as state champions in 2015, before continueing their careers in college baseball.
Player of the year
+LHP, Kale Breaux, Sulphur HS(2015)

Class 4A- After a rough start to the 2015 campaign the extremely talented St. Thomas More HS squad were able to repeat as state champions in 2015. The one-two combination of left-handed pitchers Hogan Harris and Brennan Breaux were tough for any team in 4A to matchup with this season. Add in O’Neal Lochridge and a healthy Mason Templet, the Cougars were too much down the stretch.
Player of the year
+OF, Josh Magee, Franklinton HS(2015)

Class 3A- After a disappointing loss in last year’s state championship, John Curtis HS battled its way back to the final game, taking home the trophy this year. Sophomore Daniel Cabrera stole the show for most of the year, carrying the Patriots on the mound and offensively, but young prospects like Mason Matherne are starting to arise which should allow John Curtis to continue winning at a high level.
Player of the year
+LHP/OF, Daniel Cabrera, John Curtis HS(2017)

Class 2A- In a year seemingly of repeat state champions, Kinder HS took home the crown yet again in 2015. Led by seniors Dylon Poncho and Zachary Rider, Kinder entered the playoffs as a 4-seed and won the final three games as a visiting team.
Player of the year
+SS/RHP, Dylon Poncho, Kinder HS(2015)

Class 1A- Ouachita Christian HS was the closest of any team to virtually go wire to wire as the number one team in their respective classification. Things did not come easy in the semi-final matchup as OCS had to call upon some late inning heroics to defeat Covenant Christian before advancing to run-rule victory in the state championship. Led by three outstanding juniors in Aaron George, Jake Slaughter, and Ryan Reynolds, OCS will be a force again in 2016.
Player of the year
+SS, Jake Slaughter, Ouachita Christian HS(2016)
