Game Recap:

NEW ORLEANS, LA – The Prep Baseball Report Louisiana scouting staff headed over to Kirsch-Rooney Stadium on Tuesday night, as the Brother Martin Crusaders hosted East Ascension high school in 7:00 PM matchup. Both clubs would get outstanding pitching performances, but Brother Martin would eventually come out on top, claiming a 3-2 win as the Crusaders move to 5-0 on the year.

2019 RHP Brandon Bonura (Brother Martin HS, LA) got the start on the mound for the Crusaders, and the uncommitted senior was outstanding in 6 and 1/3 innings, allowing only two runs on five hits, while striking out eight. The 6-foot, 175-pound right-hander showed a quality three-pitch mix, and strike-throwing ability, pitching 80-83 mph with his fastball, and command to both sides of the plate.

Southern Miss recruit, 2019 SS Brady Faust (Brother Martin HS, LA) helped to lead the way for the Crusader offense, finishing the day 1-for-2 with two runs scored. While 2020 3B Brennan Stuprich (Brother Martin HS, LA) finished the day 1-for-3 with an RBI double in the 1st inning, and Louisiana State recruit, 2020 OF Tre’ Morgan (Brother Martin HS, LA) added an RBI, finishing the day 1-for-3 as well.

2019 RHP Blaise Foote (East Ascension HS, LA) got the start opposite Bonura, and tossed a gem himself, going six innings allowing two earned runs, on five hits. Foote also led the way for East Ascension on offense, finishing the day 2-for-3 with a run scored.

2020 SS Blake Peterson (East Ascension HS, LA) was a force in the middle of the Spartan lineup, finishing the day 2-for-3 with two doules, and two RBI, finding the barrel in each of his three at-bats.
