Stat Rat (X-Factor)

Nicholls State recruit, 2018 OF Lloyd Nash has been a staple at the top of the Comets’ lineup for several years now, and he will certainly play a large role in the 2018 season for the St. Charles Catholic program. An athletic and lean, 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame, the left-handed hitting outfielder is a fluid athlete that finds ways to impact games defensively, as well as, offensively both in the box and on the bases. Hitting from a balanced, athletic setup, he shows a simple, compact stroke, using a line-drive, gap-to-gap approach, and finished the 2017 season with a .398 BA, .580 OBP, 5 doubles, 17 RBI, 36 runs scored, and was 34-for-34 in stolen base attempts.

Outlook

After finishing the 2017 season 25-11 and reaching the Semifinals, the Comets head into the 2018 season as an experienced club with a track record of success, returning five everyday players and three pitchers. Coach Wayne Stein has established a culture of winning, and an expectation of success in his program. He will have a talented and experienced lineup in 2018, as they look to replicate and improve upon the success of last season’s Semifinal appearance.
