It’s been a busy year of following players in their high school season, summer and fall ball and at PBR events. The 2020, 2021 and 2022 rankings revealed the emergence of several players along with some shifting of those who were already on the radar. Today, we will release our rankings of Louisiana’s 2023 class which is starting to shape into a quality class with depth of talented players all around. The initial rankings is compiled of 60 players who have already began to emerge as the cream of the crop in the 2023 class. Here are some highlights…

+ Louisiana State recruit, LHP Kade Anderson (St. Paul’s HS, LA) checks-in at No.1 in the newly released class of 2023 rankings. An athletic 6-foot, 160-pound left-hander, Anderson has established himself as one of the premier prospects in the country, showing advanced feel to pitch while running his fastball up to 87 mph.

+ Coming in behind Anderson at No. 2 is 3B Cale Comeaux (Teurlings Catholic HS, LA). Comeaux broke onto the scene as a 7th grader at the All State Games where he held his own in a group of talented upperclassmen. The athletic 6-foot-2, 175-pound infielder flashed advanced defensive actions with an accurate arm with carry. He followed that up in May with a strong performance at the Underclass Trails before killing it on the summer circuit with the Louisiana Knights showing a high level skill set with developing strength.

+ Louisiana State recruit, RHP Trenton Lape (Parkway HS, LA) has shown to be one of the premier power arms in the state for the class of 2023, and comes in at No. 3 in the rankings release. Lape was a standout last spring at the Junior Future Games Trials, running his fastball up to 86 mph.

+ RHP Brandon Levy (Parkway HS, LA) comes in at No. 4 in class of 2023 rankings. Levy opened eyes in the recruiting world at August’s Junior Future Games, as the athletic 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed pitcher showed big arm strength with the ability to spin the baseball.

+ RHP/3B Jake Larocca (Barbe HS, LA) rounds out the top five, as the right-handed hitter has shown to be one of the more advanced bats in class. Larocca broke onto the scene at the Junior Future Games Trials in June then followed it up with a standout performance at the Junior Future Games at the end of the summer.
