Trey Sofio
Louisiana Scouting Director

The 2019 spring high school season in Louisiana generated some incredible individual moments and performances throughout all corners of the state. As the spring high school season comes to a close, Prep Baseball Report is excited to announce one player who emerged ahead of the competition at all levels in the state of Louisiana. This player has been selected not only for their outstanding statistical numbers, but also for their overall effect on their high school program.

Cade Doughty

Doughty led Denham Springs HS to the 2nd round of the Class 5A playoffs in his senior season. Offensively, Doughty hit .505 on the year with 27 RBI, 10 doubles, six home runs, and stole 15 bases.

Doughty’s all-around performance, as well as the impact he has had on Denham Springs High School, has earned him the 2019 Prep Baseball Report Louisiana Player of the Year honors.

Doughty has been selected by the staff of Prep Baseball Report Louisiana.  The team of PBR area scouts who covered the high school baseball season throughout the spring selected Walston amongst a strong group of candidates from across the state.

The Prep Baseball Report staff has been diligently scouting and covering baseball games at baseball diamonds across the state this spring to bring parents, athletes and fans the most comprehensive coverage of amateur baseball across the United States. The dedication and coverage allow Prep Baseball Report a credible way to identify the top athletes each year who best represent the state of Louisiana.
