It's crazy to think that after this upcoming weekend, there will be teams who will begin district play across the state!  Last week, we traveled to Fontainebleau to watch the then undefeated Bulldogs take on St. Amant.  Fontainebleau starter senior RHP Pierce Boles turned in a solid outing, however, St. Amant's junior LHP Layne Swanson fooled the Bulldog offense all night, on route to earning the win with 10 K's over 6 IP.  This week, we have a similar matchup, as we head to the Baton Rouge, LA area to see Central BR take on Dutchtown, in our Week 3 Game of the Week.  Central BR currently owns a 6-2 overall record, with key wins over Mandeville, CE Byrd, and Captain Shreve.  The Wildcats have a lot of depth on the mound, headlined by junior LHP Grayden Harris, who is a Southern Miss recruit.  Dutchtown has gotten off to arguably the best start of any Class 5A team with a current overall record of 10-0.  The Griffins have had wins over St. Paul's twice, Hahnville, and Covington.  These two teams met last year in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs, with Dutchtown winning Game 1 by a score of 3-2 and Game 2 by a score of 6-1.  We expect a playoff type of atmosphere, so be sure to follow us, across all of our social media platforms, for live coverage of this 5A clash between the Wildcats and the Griffins!
