The Top 5

The Top 5 remains relatively unchanged, as Barbe remains at the top, after a 6-0 record on the week.  Junior RHP Landon Victorian, a LSU commit, was lights out in the Bucs 10-0 win over Zachary on Saturday, going 5 innings giving up only 2 H and 0 ER with 12 K's and 0 BB.  Sam Houston stays on the heels of their district rival Barbe, after 5-0 week, as they move to 10-0 on the year.  Senior INF Sam Ardoin, a Texas signee, had a big week at the plate, going 6-15 with a HR, 6 R, and 5 RBI.  If the Bucs and Broncos continue to both win, we may have a mega-matchup on March 16th and 18th, when the two teams face off in district play.  Dutchtown moves up a couple of spots to #3, after another impressive week with a big win on Saturday against then undefeated Covington.  Catholic (BR) moves down a spot, after participating in an out of state tournament in Alabama.  It was a good overall weekend for the Bears, as they finished going 3-1.  The lone newcomer to the Top 5 is West Monroe, who started off our season as the #1 team.  The Rebels are currently on a 9 game win streak, since their loss to Benton, and their bats have started heat up, as they've outscored their opponents over the last 9 games by 57 runs (79-22).  Junior INF Hayden Federico, an Ole Miss commit, led the Rebels offensively by going 12-17 with a HR, 3 2B, 7 R, and 11 RBI.

Risers

South Terrebonne, the 2022 Class 4A State Champions, have moved up 8 spots, after going a perfect 4-0 on the week.  The Gators won a mid-week game against Terrebonne and swept Northlake Christian over the weekend in a 3 game set.

Natchitoches Central made their Power 25 Rankings debut last week at the #23 spot and jump up 9 spots in this week's rankings update.  Senior SS Alex Dupuy (LSU-Eunice signee) earned our Player of the Week honors last week, as he's led the Chiefs to an 8-1 record to start the year.

Parkview Baptist moves up 7 spots to #17 in this week's update, after going 4-0 on the week, moving their record to 8-1 on the year.  Sophomore RHP Cade Durbin threw a perfect game with 11 K's, in a 10-0 win over Cecilia.
