The Top 5

Barbe remains at #1 again this week, after another impressive showing in Week 7.  The Bucs swept Lafayette in their two game district series, before defeating district rival Sulphur in our Game of the Week.  Catholic BR moves up to #2 this week, after sweeping Woodlawn in their district series and also defeating Teurlings Catholic by a score of 11-1.  Sam Houston remains at #3 for the second consecutive week after notching two wins against Comeaux.  West Monroe moves up one spot to #4 after defeating Benton and then sweeping their two game district series against Alexandria.  Sulphur rounds out the Top 5 this week, after sweeping Southside in their two game district series before falling to Barbe by a score of 5-3 in our Game of the Week on Saturday.  The Tors will have a chance to get revenge on the Bucs, as the two teams will meet again on Tuesday of this week.

Risers

+ St. Louis Catholic moves into the Top 10 for the first time this season.  The Saints have been hot to say the least, as they've won 15 straight games with their last loss coming against Barbe over a month ago.  Senior Jake LaRocca (Louisiana Tech signee) went 5-8 last week with a HR, 2B, 3 R, and 5 RBI.

+ North Vermilion also moves into the Top 10 for the first time this season as well.  The Patriots have won four straight games and now own a 20-5 overall record.

+ St. Amant is playing really good baseball again at the right time of the year.  The Gators swept their two game district series against Denham Springs, before splitting their district series against Dutchtown.

+ Destrehan are winners of 11 straight games and move into our Power 25 this week at #19.  The Wildcats have one of the most talented juniors in the state in OF Shane Lee, who has 6 HR, 40 RBI, and 20 stolen bags on the year.
