Scouting Report: Nicholls State recruit, currently ranked No. 43 in Louisiana’s 2017 class. Lean 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame, athletic build, present strength, room to add size. Excellent athlete that posted a 6.65 60-yard dash. Quality defender with average hands, fluid footwork, and a clean exchange. Short, loose arm action into ¾ release with accuracy on throws and a positional velocity of 82 mph. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced setup, smooth load, short stride and solid lower half. Line-drive, gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, slightly uphill path and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 89 mph.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?
Crawford: My expectations were to do anything I could, to get noticed by college coaches, which included going to showcases. 

PBR: Did location or distance from home play a factor in your decision? 
Crawford: Yes, location played a big part in my decision

PBR: Where did the college you chose first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
Crawford: Nicholls State first saw me while playing for Gauthier & Amedee. 

PBR: Who is the best player you have faced in your state, and why?
Crawford: Blayne Enlow, he can control all of his pitches for strikes in any count.

PBR: At what point in your career did you realize you were an elite player and became serious about taking your game to the next level?
Crawford: During my sophomore year when my hitting coach told me I could play at the next level. 

PBR: What were you looking for out of a college program to continue your baseball career at?
Crawford: A successful program that shared my same values of how the game should be played.

PBR: What is your best attribute as a baseball player and how does that transfer onto the field for your team?
Crawford: I can play anywhere on the field and I don’t crack under pressure.

PBR: What part of your game needs the biggest improvement, why, and what will you do to improve it?
Crawford: Being more consistent at the plate, and not let the mental aspect over take the game.

PBR: What advice would you give to young baseball players striving to get where you are?
Crawford: Don’t let anyone out work you.

PBR: What do you do in the offseason to keep yourself in baseball shape and prepare for the upcoming season?
Crawford: Played football and continued to work with my hitting coach.

PBR: What do you like most about the college you committed to and what were the key factors in making your decision?
Crawford: Their values about how you should play the game, and how you conduct yourself off the field.

PBR: What other schools were on your short list before you made your final decision?
Crawford: Northwestern State, Delgado, Alabama Southern, and Centenary.
