Southeast Louisiana Preseason ID: Preview Story

Alex Armand
Louisiana Scouting Director

On Saturday, January 8, 2022, the PBR Louisiana staff will kick off the new year by heading to Mandeville High School, to host our Southeast Louisiana Preseason ID.  This open event allows our staff an opportunity to get a look at prospects, across all classes, and the gains that they have made during the offseason.  The Preseason ID Series serves as an opportunity to earn consideration for the 2022 Future Games, receive invites to to future invite-only events, and aids in getting on follow lists for the upcoming high school season.

ROSTER PREVIEW

-2023 RHP/OF Evan Folse (Fountainbleu HS)

This will be our first chance to get a look at the physical 5'10" 190 lbs. RHP/OF in over a year, since he last attended our All-State Games in 2020.  Folse showed present bat speed and strength, throughout a compact stroke that resulted in an 85 mph exit velocity.  We're equally excited to see him on the mound, as we've been told that he's made some nice jumps and gains during the off-season.

-2025 SS/RHP Carter Guillory (Catholic BR HS)

We recently came out with our initial state rankings for the 2025 class and Guillory opened up at #18 overall.  The Catholic BR product attended one of our fall events and had a really good overall showing.  Took a clean round of BP with a short and direct path to the baseball, working gap to gap, and recorded a max exit velocity of 83 mph.  He also hopped on the mound with a quick and clean arm stroke, working his FB up to 81 mph and posted a 7.31 in the 60.

2024 SS Michael Ryan (Rummel HS)

Currently ranked 21st overall in our 2024 state rankings; Ryan is another New Orleans, LA area product that we can't wait to see.  Athletic 5'10" 165 lbs. frame with a ton of twitchiness to everything that he does.  It's been 2 years since we last got to see him up close and fully expect to see major gains in all areas of his game.

2025 2B/OF Reece Roussel (Brother Martin HS)

Roussel is another member of the 2019 Louisiana Little League World Series team and made a name for himself on the national stage during that event.  Currently ranked #15 overall in our 2025 state rankings; Roussel has a smooth LHH stroke with gap to gap power and is definitely a prospect that we will be watching closely on Saturday.

-2025 RHP/SS Marshall Louque (Lutcher HS)

Another 2025 grad that we're super excited to get a first look at is Marshall Louque of Lutcher HS, who is currently ranked as the #2 prospect in our 2025 state rankings.  Louque was a part of the 2019 Louisiana Little League team that won the Little League World Series and was stellar on the mound.  Louque has a short and quick arm action, and has been up to 88 mph this past summer, sitting in the 83-87 mph range, with feel for spin.
