On Tuesday, June 14, 38 prospects from across the state of Louisiana participated in the Prep Baseball Report Southwest Louisiana Open at Quality Sports Authority in Erath, LA.

Today, Prep Baseball Report Louisiana takes a look at the catchers that were in attendance.

Catchers

+ Lane Didier, Denham Springs HS(2017)
A 5-foot-9, 130-pound catcher with a lean, athletic frame. Outstanding defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchanges and fields athletically. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 69 mph and a pop time of 2.06. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced, athletic setup, smooth load, and short stride. Line-drive type hitter with fluid rhythm and a short, compact path with bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 75 mph. Also posted a 4.31 home to 1st time.

+ Layne Faulk, Erath HS(2016)
A 5-foot-10, 200-pound catcher with a strong, athletic frame. Quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchanges and plays athletically. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 76 mph and a pop time of 1.95. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced, athletic setup, smooth load, and short stride. Line-drive, gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, short path, strength at contact and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 89 mph. Also posted a 4.25 home to 1st time.

+ Charlie Gallusser, North Vermillion HS(2017)
A 5-foot-9, 170-pound catcher with a strong, athletic frame. Quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchanges, and fields athletically. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy and carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 74 mph and a pop time of 2.00. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced, athletic setup, smooth load, leg kick and explosive lower half. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, level, slightly uphill path, strength at contact and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 91 mph. Also posted a 4.21 home to 1st time.

+ Michael Guidry, Westlake HS(2017)
A 6-foot, 200-pound catcher with a strong, athletic frame. Solid defender with average hands, fluid footwork, clean exchanges, and plays through balls athletically. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 69 mph and a pop time of 2.00. Right-handed hitter that hits from balanced, athletic setup, smooth load, and short stride. Gap to gap type hitter with fluid rhythm, level path and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 79 mph. Also posted a 4.68 home to 1st time.

+ Sebastian Jenkins, Westgate HS(2018)
A 5-foot-11, 192-pound catcher with a medium, strong frame. Quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchange and fields athletically. Short arm action into high-3/4 release with accuracy on throws that produced a positional velocity of 73 mph and a pop time of 2.00. + Branon Pope, Acadiana HS(2018)
A 5-foot-7, 145-pound catcher with a medium, athletic frame. Outstanding defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, clean exchange and quality blocking ability. Short arm action into over the top release with accuracy and carry on throws that produced a positional velocity of 78 mph from catcher and a pop time of 1.93 seconds. Right-handed hitter that hits from a balanced setup, smooth load, short stride, and solid balance. Opposite field type hitter with slightly uphill path, fluid rhythm and bat speed that produced an exit velocity of 79 mph. Also posted a 4.15 home to 1st time.

+ Jacob Singletary, Lakeshore HS(2019)
A 5-foot-10, 165-pound catcher with a lean, athletic frame. Quality defender with soft hands, fluid footwork, and clean, quick exchanges.
