The Super 60 participant and former Future Gamer has long been known as one of the better hitters in the state and he continued to prove that in our Week 1 Game of the Week. Facing off against his future teammate in William Schmidt, Pearson collected a pull-side single in his first at-bat and then hit a line drive single up the middle in his second at-bat to finish the night 2-4.
8.5.18 (Junior Future Games) - 5-foot-10, 185-pound, right-handed hitting two way player, athleticism in thick frame, translates to the field. Offensively, balanced throughout, short stride and load, rhythmic actions. Hands are strong and loose, controls the barrel in the zone, level path with extension, gap to gap juice, ball comes off bat. Easy bat strength and speed, exit velocity topped 83 mph from a tee. Defensively, hands work, high ¾ slot, throws topped 68 mph across. On the mound, toe lift, sturdy balance, works downhill and in-line, closed toe landing, athletic finish. Arm is short and loose with arm speed, high ¾ slot. Fastball, run and sink, 74-77 mph. Curveball had wipeout action, 11/5 shape, 61-63 mph. Changeup had feel, 68 mph. Juiced two doubles at the plate in his start on the mound. Calm/confident player, found gaps at the plate all weekend.
